Site Supervisor – Landscape Regeneration In Akkar (Wadi Khaled And Mechemch)

Background ACTED is an international humanitarian NGO, founded in 1993, which supports vulnerable populations, affected by humanitarian crises worldwide. ACTED provides continued support to vulnerable communities by ensuring the sustainability of post-crisis interventions and engaging long-term challenges facing our target populations, in order to break the poverty cycle, foster development and reduce vulnerability to disasters. Our interventions seek to cover the multiple aspects of humanitarian and development crises through a multidisciplinary approach which is both global and local, and adapted to each context. Our 4 000 staff is committed in to responding to emergencies worldwide, to supporting recovery and rehabilitation, towards sustainable development. Our teams in the field implement some 380 projects in 34 countries covering the following sectors emergency relief, food security, access to health, education and training, economic development, microfinance, advocacy, institutional support, and regional dialogue, cultural promotion. **Please note: This is a local position. Only Lebanese citizens are eligible to apply.** Functions The Site Supervisor shall be responsible for: -   Planning and Coordinating tasks according to priorities and plans -   Training labourers ( theoretical and practical training)  on the tasks to be completed and the technical skills required -   Producing schedules and monitor attendance of crew -   Allocating general and daily responsibilities -   Supervising workers -   Ensuring manpower and resources are adequate -   Guaranteeing all safety precautions and quality standards are met -   Supervising the use of machinery and equipments whenever needed -   Resolving problems when they arise -   Reporting on progress to managers, engineers etc. Internal Coordination -   Submit daily activity reports and labourer attendance sheets to the line manager; -   Coordinate/collaborate  with other site supervisors as needed -   Ensure accuracy of reported data, by following internal guidelines; -   Refer complaints and delays to relevant ACTED’s staff; -   Keep line manager and Security officer informed about any security issues. Follow internal security guidelines; -   Keep an accurate filling system; -   Participate in internal lessons learned workshops and project feedback. Accountability to Communities and Beneficiaries The Site Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all relations with the communities we work are conducted in a respectful and consultative manner.  Due attention must be paid to ensuring that communities are adequately consulted and informed about ACTED programme objectives, activities, beneficiary selection criteria, and methodologies.  This is the responsibility of every ACTED staff member. Knowledge, skills -    Agriculture engineering diploma or technical agricultural diploma with experience in site supervision -    Proven field experience ; -    Previous experience in training beneficiaries -    Previous workers management experience -    Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints; -    Excellent organizational and leadership skills; -    Ability to communicate and report effectively; -    Problem-solving abilities; -    Highly motivated and with a desire to work with local communities; -    Ability to work with culturally diverse groups of people; -    Humanitarian motivation; Experience working with local authorities and Municipalities will be considered an asset.
