Education In Emergencies Project Coordinator

A) Job Specification: Task and responsibilities: The Project coordinator is responsible for an EiE (Education in Emergencies) pilot project of SOS Children Villages in Lebanon aimed to help fill the education gaps affecting both Syrian and Lebanese children affected by the refugee crisis. In brief, the main objective of the project is to provide high quality educational support by means of innovative education programs, recreation and PSS activities and to reinforce the educational assets and tools that children on the move or in emergency situation can have access to. The coordinator will be expected to lead on program implementation and coordination. S/he will supervise and work directly with the team and different stakeholders on the ground while being the direct accountable for reporting, monitoring and evaluating the results of the different project phases. The project coordinator is responsible for: Project Management Project Development phase: Shape up the main research, needs assessment and basic project plan with possible partner list into a solid project plan with a clear budget to be approved by the management team for implementation Connect and discuss with potential partners interests, ways and details of collaboration, elaborate MoU’s timelines and prepare all documentation needed to kick off the project Identify potential ICT hardware & supplier/donor  in close collaboration with local, reg. and Int ICT advisor Collaborate with Emergency Response HR Coordinator to assess staff needs, write job descriptions and recruit the needed team. Project Implementation phase: Management and coordination of project activities, Install Task force CCC (content, curriculum, cooperation), consisting of key personal of SOS, partners, and external consultants as needed, Ensure the implementation of the educational, psychosocial, vocational etc. activities. Identify ICT specs for considered education programs, ensure implementation and functionality of all technical education tools (Hardware, ICT) Promote participatory approaches in the program, particular community and children’s participation Provide insights on adaptations and improvements that can be easily implemented to the program. conducting baseline studies and need assessments set-up criteria for the selection of beneficiaries Identification of locations & partners (in Bekaa valley) for further project activities. Identification of volunteers if needed networking and communication with stakeholders and beneficiaries both at a local level, towards SOS Lebanon National Level and ultimately SOS International Office Region MENA Training the identification of training needs for each of the selected education programs, the organization and implementation of capacity building programs for staff, trainees, volunteers, in collaboration with partnership and even other SOS Lebanon members. Identify & communicate training participation advise for international Education focal point (SOS Int Staff) Monitoring, reporting and evaluation prepare, update and implement project work plans and review progress on a monthly basis with input from partners and all members of team overseeing efficient implementation of the program and update the National ERP coordination draft international deployment procedures, highlight transferable/replicable learnings, programs, experiences, needs,.. ensure compliance with SOS policies and procedures, including the clear and consistent application of child safeguarding and code of conduct policies. B) Person specification – Essential Criteria: Excellent organizational and management skills Team leading experience (3 years) Technical and working experience in the field of education, social work, psycho-social programs, vocational training, (3 years) Strong knowledge of minimum standards (Sphere and others) related to child protection and other project-related sectors of intervention; Good network to local and international stakeholders like ministries, local associations, schools, (I)NGOs, CBOs, relevant specially to the field of education etc. Experience in the usage of technology in the field of education and vocational training is highly desirable Above-average ICT skills in terms of set-up, config & management of OS, users & networks, outstanding knowledge of MS office Language skills, Arabic (excellent), English (Excellent), French is a plus Driving license, own car is a plus
