Ward Nurse

Ward Nurse   The Weapon Traumatology Training Centre (WTTC) is a training center for weapon-wounded surgery procedures set up in September 2014 by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Dar Al Chifae and Dar Al Zahra hospitals in Tripoli, North Lebanon, in agreement with the Lebanese Ministry of Health. The center endeavors to ensure the delivery of a comprehensive clinical treatment of weapon wounded, while at the same time ensuring the transfer of know-how to surgeons and other medical personnel by an international team of health professionals from the ICRC. ICRC is recruiting a “Ward Nurse” for the WTTC. Job Purpose Under the direct supervision of the Head Nurse, the Ward Nurse  is one of  the first contacts to ICRC patients, he/she has to preserves ICRC standards  at all times, ensures the delivery of quality nursing care  and makes sure he/she reflects a good image of the ICRC.   Job tasks and responsibilities: Works as a member of the multi-disciplinary team, contributing professional nursing input to the care plans and decision making for acute orthopedic and reconstruction surgical patients in an acute hospital or rehabilitation setting. Develops nursing plans of care in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team. Performs appropriate treatments as ordered by surgeons in an accurate and timely manner. Reports patient condition to appropriate personnel during each shift. Acts as a registered nurse in preparing the patient for surgery and manages /supervises safe pre and post-operative care.  Performs therapeutic nursing interventions in partnership with the patient and his/her family. Maintains current competency in adult surgical nursing and seeks to increase/ share nursing knowledge at all times. Maintains confidentiality in all matters related to patient, family and the organization. Provides care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to the patient’s and family’s diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity and rights. Supervises Nurse Helper.   Profile University Degree or professional diploma 3- 5 years work experience as a registered nurse in a surgical or rehabilitation setting Good knowledge of written and spoken English Computer literacy in word and excel Adaptability to work in either acute or rehabilitation orthopedic services/mobile or fixed location.
