Programme Assistant (School Feeding)

  Under the direct supervision of the Programme Policy Officer (School Meals & Nutrition), the incumbent will carry out the following functions: Monitor and review the implementation of WFP school meal programmes at both the national and local level, in close collaboration with programme implementing partner/s and the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE); Participate in the review of school meal modalities to facilitate innovation in the development of the programme, as the programme moves to scale; Assist in the implementation of the School Meals & Nutrition unit work plan, by reviewing the unit’s achievements and constraints, and providing updated inputs accordingly;  Oversee distribution of food items at the school level to ensure and verify that appropriate methods are in place and to provide feedback to Field Officers and other distribution focal points;  Plan and conduct periodic meetings with various school meal programme stakeholders (schools’ administration, students, parents, refugee representatives, etc.) to monitor programme implementation and identify areas for improvement; Inputting available data into food distribution monitoring database, utilizing corporate software; Liaise with the MEHE as necessary with regards to the data needs of the school meals programme (enrolment, attendance, available records, etc); Liaise with the partner UN agencies and NGOs at both the national and field level as required; Perform other duties as required.
