Under the overall supervision of the IOM Representative in Lebanon and the Chief Medical Officer (UN-Migration Agency) Beirut, and the technical direction of the Technical officer TB/HIV and the National Tuberculosis Programme Coordinator of MOPH Lebanon, the incumbent will be responsible and accountable for implementing activities within the framework of the project Middle East Response for TB/ HIV and Malaria funded by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
In particular, he/she will have the following tasks:
Clinical:
Provide health services and clinical care for all the patients arriving at the NTP center including diagnosis, treatment, and follow up on cases and referral if need will be.
Provide technical guidance to other health staff working at the NTP center.
Abide by the guidelines and prescribing/treatment practices of the National Tuberculosis Program (NTP).
Ensure proper infection control measures are being implemented within the NTP center the physician is operating at.
Attend trainings and meetings organized for NTP physicians.
Participate actively in writing a national reference for TB management.
Contribute in implementation of approved and endorsed NSP.
Managerial:
Monitor and supervise staff attendance at the NTP centers on daily basis.
Monitor and coordinate the referral of patients to the sanatorium
Fill medical records in a complete and comprehensive manner
Track medication consumption rates at the NTP center as well as informing NTP coordinator about needs related to equipment and/or medical consumables. Report on drugs and diagnostics and consumables stock levels to the central unit quarterly.
Submit regular report directly to the NTP coordinator and meet with the NTP coordinator and IOM health unit staff as needed
Participate in assessments/surveys of the beneficiaries’ health needs and needs of the supported tuberculosis centers
Perform such other duties as may be assigned
