Resettlement Assistant - G4 - Hrt036 - Unhcr Ta - Beirut, Lebanon

The Resettlement Assistant provides important clerical and administrative support to resettlement operations. The incumbent maintains frequent contacts with his/her supervisor, relevant colleagues within the same Office to exchange information and discuss issues on resettlement cases. Accountability (key results that will be achieved) UNHCR’s resettlement policies and standards are correctly and coherently applied. Persons of concern are made aware of UNHCR’s resettlement procedures and have fair and transparent access to and participation in the resettlement process. Suspected fraud in the resettlement process is promptly reported. Responsibility (process and functions undertaken to achieve results) Carry out preliminary data base and telephonic screening of resettlement referrals to determine resettlement eligibility. Screen out referrals not meeting resettlement criteria at the initial verification level and update relevant EfA events Schedule Identification Based Methodology interviews for referrals screened in as eligible. Consult the Identification Team Leader on complex referrals when needed. Provide the Identification Team Leader with weekly updates of the screening results. Create electronic folders, save IBM referral forms under the corresponding folder. Update the EfA events and the relevant tracking sheets. Provide counselling to refugees as needed. Refer cases to other functional UNHCR units (Community Services/Legal/ Health) as required to ensure relevant follow up. Assist in mitigating resettlement fraud by reporting suspected fraud to the Resettlement unit Fraud Focal Point. Other tasks as needed Authority (decisions made in executing responsibilities and to achieve results) Provide counselling to persons of concern.

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
Define the educational background, the relevant job experience and the language(s) that are essential to perform the work of the position.
Completion of University Degree in relevant field (Political Science, International law, social sciences or related field). Certificate/training in International Law, International Relations or related fields required.
Job Experience: 2 years of job experience relevant to the functions.
Fluency in English and Arabic.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES.
Describe any experience or knowledge that would be an asset, such as: UNHCR Learning Programmes, other training, additional languages, Field/HQs experience, etc.
Good knowledge of resettlement issues and UNHCR resettlement policies and operational applications.
Completion of UNHCR specific learning/training activities.
