Marketing & Communications Specialist

Position Summary TFL is looking for a Marketing & Communications Specialist to join its Executive Team. The Marketing & Communications Specialist serves as a critical agent in developing and managing the organization’s brand identity and positioning within and outside of it. This is a high-impact leadership role with a scope of responsibility that involves managing the image of Teach For Lebanon and transmitting its mission and vision to the public. In a fast-moving and growing work environment, the candidate needs to be responsive, flexible, strategic and tactical. The Marketing & Communications Specialist reports regularly to the Recruitment & Impact Measurement Manager and the Public Relations Manager at the organization. He/She handles online public relations, information output, press releases and media requests, social media and advertising for a wide variety of organizations, corporations and audiences. The Marketing & Communications Specialist creates and maintains positive relationships between the organization and the public often using media outlets. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Develop and conduct market research for setting national and regional marketing and communications priorities and strategies Develop a communications and social media strategy Proactively manage the implementation of the media strategies Collect stories from the field and develop them into well written communication materials and story boards for documentaries Maintain an archive for historical Communications database (success stories, photos, videos, events, press releases, updated stakeholders list…) Ensure adherence to brand and positioning across organization’s materials Develop materials to support all programmatic and development priorities Develop effective relationships with local and collegiate media Proactively contact media to fulfill requests, pitch story ideas and build TFL media portfolio Build on the brand identity including logo, color palette, fonts, supporting graphics Identify opportunities to elevate the image of the organization Write promotional materials, website content, articles, publications and other communication materials as required Prepare press releases for events Prepare mass communications compiled from program and development team leaders (presentations, brochures, annual report…) Create communications of key messages about organization, mission, and goals and train staff on external communications Coordinate with the overseas development director of TFL Coordinate and maintain website and social media platforms Prepare, design and send out quarterly e-newsletter to share organizational highlights Draft and track marketing/communications budget Coordinate with printing house to ensure timely delivery of marketing materials. Qualifications and Competences: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in Marketing, Communications, or Education preferred 3+ years of professional experience in a marketing or communications position required; experience in education/non-profits preferred Skilled in use of Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Google Analytics,, and Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Web and graphics design (such as Photoshop and illustrator) Deep appreciation for visual design Proficient in website management Commitment to TFL core values, job ethics, and staff procedures Ability to use data strategically to improve performance Achievement-orientation Experience in copywriting and editing Social Media marketing Knowledge, Skills and Personal Attributes: Identify with Teach For Lebanon’s vision and values and have a passion for education Leadership and management experience Ability to work independently and under pressure Flexible and creative; being able to offer a variety of solutions for any given problem Cooperative and diplomatic Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills Exceptional writing skills with strong attention to detail Strong interpersonal skills Strong organizational and team working skills Required languages: Arabic, English and French is a plus
