Associate Director

The Associate Director is responsible for working with the Director General (DG) in planning, developingand implementing the ACSS strategic plan including fundraising; taking main responsibility for oversightof all the grants and fellowships programs and is also responsible for communicating and coordinatingwith all stakeholders in relation to these programs (www.theacss.org).Main accountabilities: Assisting the DG in developing and implementing strategy plans Assisting the DG with fundraising Leading the grants and fellowships programs work of the ACSS (it is essential that the personhas grant-making and management experience) Taking major responsibility for the annual report to donors as well as reporting on grants relatedto specific areas of responsibility Working with various units within the office to develop annual work plans as well as short-termand long-term strategies in line with overall strategy Working with the Board of Trustees and sub-committees as needed Working with Administration & Finance Manager on internal policies and on financial reporting asneeded Oversight of current focal points (in Palestine and one in Algeria) and help in developing newfocal points/regional offices Contributing to the publications work of the Council Other office-wide responsibilities to be mutually agreed upon periodically.Educational Requirements:PhD in any of the Social Science disciplinesKnowledge, Technical Skills, and Experience: At least 10 years management experience in similar areas and activities; Experience in grant-making, budgeting and management; Perfect knowledge of spoken and written Arabic and English.
