Regional Hospital Engineer (Middle East) Vacancy

Médecins Sans Frontières, an international medical and humanitarian association founded in 1971, provides medical assistance to communities faced with crises endangering their survival. These crises typically take the form of armed conflict but also include epidemics, natural catastrophes and even exclusion from healthcare. The French section of MSF is present in some thirty countries worldwide. For a new position, we recruit a: REGIONAL HOSPITAL ENGINEER (MIDDLE EAST) (M/W) Mission : Principle duties of the position: First line technical support to the fields or missions Adapt norms to be implemented with local registration and certification for Health Facilities improvement Availability for emergency response Improve hospital management to set context requirements Build technical experience and expertise on the regional hospital/or health structure and structure equipment Recruitment and training of available human resources Support supply unit/department on after sale services follow up Participation and initiative in R&D. Skills : The ability to follow technical drawings, building plans and other instructions The capacity to understand a wide range of engineering functions and procedures Team working skills to work cooperatively and liaise with people at all levels. Reporting to: Hierarchical: Cell Logistic Manager (CLM) based in Dubai; Technical: Head of Technical Support based in Bordeaux, France. Terms of employment : Ideally based in Lebanon (Dubai and Jordan also possible), the regional hospital Engineer is a regional technical position in Middle East (ME), with expected visits within five countries (Jordan, Syria/Turkey, Yemen, Iraq, Lebanon and Gaza – Palestine) but not limited to other missions that could be opened or seen of significant importance in regards to the hospital/health structure and structure machinery efficiency quality management and improvement. 60% of regional hospital Engineer time is expected to be in the field or mission, 10% R&D, 20% of his/her time will be for other necessary movements e.g. France, Dubai, etc. and 10% of the time will represent holidays or breaks excluding weekends and public holidays. The time spent either in the field or other locations shall remain flexible depending on the actual field/or mission needs. Salary according to the MSF salary grid and previous relevant experiences
