Cash And Livelihood Coordinator

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate who can work with DRC as Cash and Livelihood Coordinator.    Who are we?  DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.  DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects.  For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.ngo   About the job  The Cash and Livelihoods Coordinator will guide DRC’s strategic positioning, technical development and quality implementation of cash and livelihoods programmes. S/he will ensure the programme is delivered to a high quality in line with DRC’s, donors and international standards. S/he will ensure good coordination with other actors in the sector and between DRC’s programmatic sector teams. S/he will be actively engaged with the DRC-led LEADERS Consortium, consisting of six leading NGOs across two countries – Lebanon and Jordan.    Duties and Responsibilities  • Represent DRC at national working groups and core groups on basic assistance and livelihoods, and other fora as required;  • Provide technical guidance and support to programme staff on cash and livelihoods activities  • Lead development and updates of strategies on cash and livelihoods, approaches and SOPs;  • Provide technical oversight of programme activities, including spot checks;  • Support start-up of new cash and livelihoods programmes;  • Provide technical inputs into proposals on livelihoods and cash, lead on proposal development if requested;  • Support field teams to implement good quality programming;  • Support identification and development of strategic partnerships on livelihoods   About you  To be successful in this role you must have: 5+ years of experience in the livelihoods/economic recovery sectors. Experience with NGOs, UN and working with displaced communities such as refugees and/or IDPs is highly advantageous.    In this position, you are expected to demonstrate DRC’ five core competencies:   Striving for excellence: You focus on reaching results while ensuring an efficient process.   Collaborating: You involve relevant parties and encourage feedback.   Taking the lead: You take ownership and initiative while aiming for innovation.   Communicating: You listen and speak effectively and honestly.   Demonstrating integrity: You act in line with our vision and values.   Moreover we also expect the following:  Required qualifications  • Context knowledge of Lebanon and/or the Middle-East is advantageous.  • Experience working with large teams in a dynamic environment.  • Strong experience in working with national partners, local/government authorities, and donor guidelines.  • Knowledge of job counseling methodologies, business training and entrepreneurship development preferred.  • Working experience of implementing vocational training programmes for vulnerable population advantageous.  • Strong experience in project development and proposal writing.  • Tertiary qualifications in economics, international relations or related discipline required. Advanced degree such as Masters, Post Graduate or MBA advantageous  • Full proficiency in spoken and written English required. Proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.   We offer  DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract until 31st of December 2017, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from June 2017 and be willing and able to work in Beirut.  Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Expatriates and Nationals; please refer to www.drc.ngo under Vacancies.
