Digital Opportunity Trust Lebanon (DOT Lebanon: lebanon.dotrust.org) is a Local NGO, member of the DOT networks in countries throughout Africa, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas. DOT is an innovator in enabling people to access and apply information and communications technologies (ICT) to create education, economic and entrepreneurial opportunities. DOT’s vision is to make these opportunities available to marginalized people, especially women and youth, as a strategy to eradicate poverty, vulnerability and gender inequality. DOT’s signature entrepreneurship programs, ReachUp! and StartUp!, integrate ICT, life skills, and micro-enterprise development and are delivered in a cost-effective manner, using university graduates to train and build capacity of youth in their communities. DOT transforms and supports young women and men, as they become leaders of economic and education change in their societies.
Position Description:
As a Business Developer Officer, your main responsibility is to assist DOT Lebanon to create new opportunities by inviting new partners and promoting new services to the digital platform services and other digital technology solutions. You will be asked to build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and close business deals and maintain extensive knowledge of current market needs.
Your key responsibilities and accountabilities will include:
Business Development
Actively identifying and tracking relevant collaboration, partnership or funding opportunities through the initiation of contacts with relevant stakeholders
Researching organizations and individuals online (especially on social media) to identify new leads and potential new market
Maintains relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new services
Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets
Understand needs of civil society organizations and how to effectively meet those needs through digital technology solutions and training plans
Build and maintain surveys, configure how they are distributed and filled
Marketing and communication
Implement marketing and communications activities as directed to promote the digital platform services.
Develop a network of external communication channels and contacts to promote the digital platform services.
Work closely with the database developer and marketing consultant.
Support in the development of marketing material for various purposes.
Support in the implementation of effective marketing and communication plans to develop and maintain the digital platform services nationally.
Brainstorm and develop ideas for creative marketing campaigns.
Assist in outbound and inbound marketing activities by demonstrating expertise in various areas.
Network across key clients and maintain good overall stakeholder management.
Attending conferences, meetings, and industry event – representing DOT Lebanon at events relevant to the entrepreneurship and digital ecosystem.
Understand the needs of the platform clients and find the best way to communicate to DOT Lebanon’s field team.
Familiar with some powerful social media like Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn.
Act as a contact person between DOT Lebanon and its existing and potential markets.
Position Qualification & Skills Requirements:
Minimum of master degree in the field of Business, Sales, Marketing or advertising.
Must have at least 5 years’ experience of business-to-business sales at a corporate level.
Outstanding organizational as well as time-management skills.
Strong negotiation, advocacy and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Skilled at agreeing and closing deals with strong client relationships experience
Provide high quality supervision and line management.
Provide leadership and coordination in planning, monitoring and evaluation
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and efficient multi-tasker. This candidate can work independently in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
