Livelihood Officer

  Position Summary The Livelihood Officer is in charge to support the Education Program Manager, project partners and communities in the development, implementation and monitoring of key project activities. The Livelihood Officer should lead the project livelihood team identifying the needs and openings of skill based training and livelihood opportunities.    Responsibilities of the Livelihood Officer Plan, monitor and report on skills training and livelihood support project components (Skill Based Training Courses; Apprenticeships; Youth Led Activities) in close coordination with livelihood field coordinators across project sites Ensure follow up with project partners, monitoring of attendance and performance to ensure that activities are delivered according to the expected results and the terms of contracts Support field coordinators in liaising between communities and ANERA office- ensuring the maintenance of good relationships  with beneficiaries and local leaders/authorities Build strong relationship with local partners and youth target groups and represent the project before the partners and other stakeholders  when required Support field coordinators to identify partners and linkages (private sectors, NGO, and local government partners) to support youth and livelihoods- related interventions. Handle the daily follow up on the project’s activities in the field, and ensure that the technical aspects of the project are running in accordance with the project’s objectives and strategies Ensure smooth implementation, and effective use of the available resources Ensure regular, good quality reporting for internal use on the status of on-going programming Lead in conducting market assessment of the areas of intervention and determining program intervention priorities based on needs and existing resources. Assist in the recruitment of qualified livelihoods staff as needed (trainers, and apprenticeship mentors). Assist in developing tracking and monitoring tools to ensure SBTC program implementation is on track and of highest quality. Any other task relevant to the position and agreed upon with program Manager   Requirements and qualifications Degree in Social Sciences, Business development or other related field Minimum two years of professional work experience in livelihood centered approaches on poverty and vulnerability reduction, micro enterprises and fund management. Proficient and experienced in planning, monitoring and reporting of project activities in relevant field. Required Competencies Sensitive and responsive to gender, ethnicity, disability and other social issues Participatory and team approach to work and behaviour Proactive in liaising and problem solving Excellent interpersonal, networking, communication, negotiation and facilitation skills Excellent computer skills including navigating email, internet and WORD and PowerPoint Languages: Arabic: Fluent  English: Excellent in written and spoken   French is an advantage
