TERMS OF REFERENCE (TOR) Project Coordinator Lebanon Reforestation Initiative 2017   Background   The Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI) is a Lebanese NGO registered at the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities under no. 1186 on 18 June 2014. LRI is implementing “Influencing Decision-makers to stop Violations and Organize Community Actions Towards Environmental Engagement (I-DVOCATE)” project funded by USAID through the Baladi Cap project. I-DVOCATE aims to advocate for change in knowledge, attitudes and behavior of local communities in the field of forest protection through lobbying for the classification of forest lands in three municipalities in the Rachaiya, Shouf and Byblos regions and through establishing mechanisms in at least three municipalities for improved protection of forests from violations such as illegal cutting, intentional fires and overgrazing, among others. The Project Coordinator duty post is located in LRI’s offices in Hazmieh, with frequent field trips to the project’s locations. Tasks and Responsibilities The project Coordinator shall ensure an efficient coordination among partners and other components of the project. Support team in implementation of the project’s activities Ensure that the project’s work plan is followed efficiently Understand and appropriately implement donor guidelines and procedures regarding reporting requirements, and stay informed of any new official guidelines and procedures. Coordinate with LRI Admin Coordinator on the procurement of goods and services, providing purchase requests to all planned activities’ procurements and supporting in the acquisition of needed quotations. Following-up on project expenses and coordinating with the Finance team on budget management, providing regular updates on budget projections. Conduct regular meetings with the project manager Support in the process of monitoring and evaluation through the compilation of necessary documentation provided by project’s team in accordance with the M&E plan and submitting them to LRI’s M&E Specialist Provide strategic advice and ensure appropriate coordination between the field officers Prepare communication materials as needed with the review of the PM Provide timely and detailed reporting of project activities to the PM Timely identify, inform and discuss any issues with the PM Work closely and effectively with I-DVOCATE team staff Represent I-DVOCATE in the field and during meetings where appropriate   Qualifications A graduate degree in environmental science, communication or any related field, Minimum 2 years of professional work experience in environmental, social, and advocacy projects; Demonstrated experience in coordinating development projects; High-level of communication skills; able to negotiate effectively between different stakeholders, and to represent the project; Good team work and organizational skills Capable of working under pressure and respecting deadlines Excellent writing and reporting skills English and Arabic proficiency   Experience required: 3-5 years of experience Education degree: Bachelor’s Degree and Masters is a plus Field of education: A background in environmental science, communication or any related field.  Individuals should provide the following: CV; Cover letter; Reference list; Contract Duration The contract will be effective from the date of hiring until the end of April 2018.
