SPARK is looking for enthusiastic volunteers for the SPARK HES Scholarship Project. About SPARK HES Scholarship project SPARK has 20 years of experience in scaling education in over 15 fragile states. SPARK tackles the high demand of higher education of Syrian refugees with a regional approach in Syria, Iraq (KRG), Jordan, Turkey and Lebanon with the Higher Education 4 Syrians (HES) project. SPARK aims to enroll up to 10.000 Syrians in higher education, in order to provide them with the skills needed to reconstruct Syria in the long-term, and give back to their host communities in the short term. Spark focuses on education in the local language (Arabic or Kurdish) where possible, and in English when required. Programmes supported are in relevant areas to the needs of the region, e.g. mechanics, nursing on the vocational level, and banking/project management on the bachelor level. Find out more on www.spark-syria.eu Scholarship Selection volunteers As part of the selection process for the scholarships, all applicants for the scholarship are asked to submit an online application, on which they will be assessed, as a first step. After the online application, the candidates are interviewed individually by phone. If they pass the phone interview, they are obliged to attend a full day workshop on which they will also be assessed as a final step. The volunteers will be assisting the Project Officers in each step of the selection process. All selection volunteers will receive a brief training before they start working for SPARK. Requirements and Skills: Basic office skills (MS office, email, etc.) Accurate, structured and precise Great communication skills Flexible and responsible Ability to work independently Fluent Arabic (essential) Working knowledge of English (essential) Integrity (SPARK code of conduct needs to be signed) SPARK offers: Volunteer fee (per day or per hour, depending on the need) International and dynamic working experience Availability: June to August (not every day, depending on workload) Location: Some volunteers will be based in Beirut (should be living in Beirut), some in Bekaa (should be living in Bekaa), some in Tripoli (should be living in Tripoli)
