Your duties:
As project coordinator in the project Future Together Now, you will contribute to the development of the forumZFD-programme in Lebanon, especially to the programme area Community Mobilising. You will be working in an international team of 5, tasked with results-oriented planning and implementation of the Future Together Now project. Within this project you will contribute to reducing tensions between Syrian refugees and native Lebanese. You will moreover network and exchange knowledge with other actors in the field, first and foremost with the local partner organisations.
Specific tasks:
Support for and mentoring of trainees qualified within the programme (community activists)
Involvement in further development and guidance of the project concept, training measures on methods and concepts of civil conflict transformation, and community mobilizing together with the team and in coordination with the team manager
Frequent partner visits for consulting support in the implementation of the project (incl. a willingness to undertake regular, time-consuming trips to different regions of Lebanon insofar as the safety situation allows this)
Involvement in the further development of intervention measures in the fields of activity of the forumZFD in Lebanon in cooperation with multipliers from the civil society and other relevant actors in Lebanon
Support for participatory processes within the team and with partners
Involvement in conflict-sensitive project planning, implementation of forumZFD’s internal monitoring system and reporting processes;
Development of structures and networks to safeguard the project’s sustainability
Support to the administrative/financial side of project implementation and to reporting
Involvement in effective presentation to the public of the project activities and conceptual development of the public relations work (primarily in Lebanon, but also in Germany)
Your profile:
University degree (e.g. political science, Middle East studies, Arabic studies...)
Preferably EU citizenship
Experience in conflict transformation and/or development cooperation abroad
International experience in the Middle East (knowledge of political and confessional fragmentation in Lebanon is especially desirable)
Knowledge of methods and concepts of conflict transformation/conflict management is desirable
Experience in mentoring, coaching and consulting as well as experience in the fields of organisational development and project management
Experience as trainer is desirable
Capacity for strategic and conceptual thinking
Willingness to work with a “systemic approach” in a participative environment
Experience in civil society work, cooperating with (civil society) associations and NGOs
Proven intercultural skills, excellent communication skills and a team player
Physical and mental resilience
Very good knowledge of English, knowledge of Arabic language (desirable)
Sound IT skills (Office applications)
Driving licence
