Assistant Private Sector Partnership Officer (Individual Giving) – Noa – P.n. 10026140 - Beirut, Lebanon

There are currently over one million Syrian refugees registered with UNHCR in Lebanon, which makes Lebanon the highest refugee-hosting country per capita in the world. There are no approved camps in the country, and refugees are spread over 2,125 communities and locations across the country. The refugee response is led by the Government and local actors, supported by the international community.  As the designated lead agency in the refugee response, UNHCR has established a sector-based structure in Beirut and in the field. The structure brings together over 100 UN agencies, national and international NGO partners in identifying and agreeing on the strategic priorities to address the needs of Syrian refugees and other affected populations. The Lebanon national response falls under the Regional Refugee and Resilience Plan (3RP), whereby UNHCR guides the refugee response and UNDP facilitates the resilience and stabilization component.  The UNHCR operational response in Lebanon is the largest for the organization. Media attention and the frequency of influential high-profile visitors is high. The Office has grown substantially in the past years and now has around 640 staff. Aside from the Branch Office in the capital city of Beirut, UNHCR has two sub-offices in Zahle and Tripoli and two field offices in Mt Lebanon, Tyre, and one field unit in Qobayat under the Tripoli Sub-Office.   The position of Assistant Private Sector Partnership (PSP) Officer (IG) contributes to the implementation of the Individual Giving (IG) programme in MENA.  The focus will be on individual giving marketing and will require a strategic approach to test new acquisition channels and new fundraising products, and to improve ROI.  The incumbent is required to contribute to the growth and management of a sustainable fundraising programme within the MENA context. S/he provides support in the expansion and implementation of UNHCRS’s IG Fundraising Strategy and Plan, and takes an active role as part of the PSP service, especially working with the regional PSP team in the region and the Global Fundraising Support team.   The Assistant PSP Officer (IG) takes part in to the development of a multichannel integrated approach to individual giving with the support of the existing fundraising team. He/she will also contribute to establishing a Middle Donor, Face to Face, and DRTV program.   Accountability (key results that will be achieved)    UNHCR has sufficient support to implement and expand the IG Fundraising Strategy and Plan in the region thus is better able to meet the income targets and goals.   Responsibility (process and functions undertaken to achieve results)   Contribute to the development of a fundraising strategy to significantly increase income across a range of funding streams, with a focus on raising income from MENA supporters in line with the global fundraising strategy. Produce annual and long -term income and expenditure budgets and monitor results against them, advising management of any significant deviations. Provide regular reporting on the progress of fundraising plans and ROIs. Identify and develop opportunities to increase income and improve cost efficiency on an on-going basis. Contribute to training and coaching of the team. Communicate key strategic, organizational and external issues affecting UNHCR and its fundraising activities. Contribute to the strategic and operational direction and management of the Individual Giving unit and PSP service in MENA. Develop relationships and contracts with external suppliers. Ensure that fundraising activities consistently reflect the image and values of UNHCR and comply with relevant local regulations. Support the middle donor program to help secure needed organizational support and meeting targets. Support the development and growth of the face-to-face program in the region and continuously monitor progress against KPIs and targets. Support the telemarketing program, ensuring its capacity to cater to other fundraising programs such as face-to-face and DRTV. Ensure proper systems (CRM, payment gateways, e-mail platforms etc.) are in place to manage and support fundraising programs, including donor care, telemarketing, and face-to-face, as well as financial processing, financial reporting, a donor database, and e-mail marketing platform. Support the donor care program to ensure sustained regular giving, with the aim of reducing attrition, retaining donors, and increasing income. Test and develop new channels and tools for acquisition.  Contribute to skill-sharing and develop relationships with colleagues from other fundraising offices and units.   Authority (decisions made in executing responsibilities and to achieve results)   Monitor all activities against targets and key performance indicators. Make recommendations related to implementation and expansion of IG plans within the region.

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Define the educational background, the relevant job experience and the language(s) that are essential to perform the work of the position.
University degree (BA) in business/marketing, social sciences or a related discipline plus 2 years (1 year with advanced university degree) previous relevant private sector fundraising experience in a not-for-profit organization or international organization.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and networking skills with large groups and individuals.
Ability to explain complex issues to external donors and present the organization and its diverse operations in an appealing and concise manner.
Excellent computer skills.
Knowledge of local institutions.
Excellent English language (written/oral/comprehension).
Knowledge of Arabic.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
Describe any experience or knowledge that would be an asset, such as: UNHCR Learning Programmes, other training, additional languages, Field/HQs experience, etc.
Experience in marketing, sales, new business development or fundraising.
Experience in managing a team and programs with financial targets.
Proven ability to meet fundraising targets.
Experience in developing, managing and stewarding relationships with corporations and foundations in a non-profit organization.
Experience in working with clients/supporters in the MENA region.
Proven financial management and analytical skills including experience in planning and managing budgets.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to sell ideas and negotiate.
Relationship building and networking skills
Experience in managing external agencies such as marketing agencies
Proficiency in the use of standard computer software, especially Microsoft Office
Knowledge of and familiarity with the MENA region generally, and the Gulf audience specifically.
Experience/Knowledge of fundraising in the civil society / international NGO environment would be an advantage.
