Project Overview
Through the British Policing Support Team Project (2016-19) the United Kingdom supports the Lebanese Internal Security Forces (ISF) to meet the challenges to Lebanon’s stability and public safety. Key elements of the British Policing Support Team’s work relate to mainstreaming a Community Policing model, improving internal and external accountability, enhancing Human Rights standards and building the capacity and professionalism of the ISF.
Role
The Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant will support project personnel in tasks pertaining to monitoring, evaluation, and administration including taking of minutes of meetings. They will receive guidance and will experience different aspects of working in an international development organization. They will be trained to fulfil their primary responsibilities.
Responsibilities
The Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant will have the following responsibilities:
Support to project reporting, and monitoring and evaluation, both gathering and presenting information.
Support on organizational functions including data management, maintaining project management platforms and minute-taking.
Support on research, including reviewing existing literature and gathering open-source information, arranging and participating in interviews of stakeholders and experts, contributing to analytical models and cross-referencing and validating information.
Essential Education and Skills
Undergraduate degree with one year’s professional experience or Master’s degree.
Fluent Arabic and English speaker, with strong English writing skills including the ability to summarize information clearly and draw together information from multiple sources in a cohesive manner.
Good quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills.
Highly competent in Microsoft Office suite.
Desirable Experience and Skills
Experience in fieldwork role in social and organisational research, especially applied research, and in contributing to research reports.
Competence in visual design software.
Working knowledge of Lebanese political and security landscape.
