The position of the Quality of Teaching & Learning (QTL) Project Manager is a full-time position. The QTL Project Manager reports to Ana Aqra’s Project Director. The Project Manager oversees the planning, implementation, and tracking of the project, to ensure it is line with the stated goals of the organization.
The QTL is a project that aims to enhance the quality of teaching for vulnerable Lebanese and Syrian refugee children in 26 schools throughout Lebanon. The QTL aims to develop and roll-out a comprehensive training package with an emphasis on Ana Aqra Association’s (AAA) remedial program and the American University of Beirut’s (AUB) TAMAM outreach project that focuses on the QTL’s school-based leadership (SBL) component.
Duties and responsibilities:
The project manager duties and responsibilities include the following:
Plan the project
Define the scope of the QTL project in collaboration with senior management;
Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc) required to complete the project;
Develop a schedule in coordination with the program director for project completion; and share it with senior management and project staff.
Staff the project
In coordination with the human resources, participate in the recruiting, interviewing and selecting process of the project staff;
Manage project staff and ensure that everyone on the team understands the scope of the project and agrees upon how the project’s goals will be met.
Implement the project
Execute the project according to the project work plan;
Monitor the progress of the project to ensure high quality of the work completed and timely production of all deliverables and document project activities.
Control the project
Compile and write needed reports for the management on weekly and monthly basis;
Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures and cash flows and ensure up to date financial records;
Serve as the primary contact and ensure appropriate liaison with senior management and project funder.
Evaluate the project
Develop an evaluation process for the project;
Participate in presentations about the project to the board and to other key stakeholders as required;
Ensure that the project deliverables are on time and within budget;
Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase and write the needed reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly)
Qualifications
Previous experience as Project Manager within the non-profit sector; with proven experience in leading and managing complex projects;
Extensive knowledge of pedagogical approaches and teacher training.
University Degree in Degree in Education, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Education Psychology or any related field. Master’s Degree (desirable);
Excellent use of computer with command on MS Excel among other packages of MS Office; knowledge of CRM (desirable);
Proven skills in critical thinking, assessment and analysis;
Demonstrated ability in report writing and presentation;
Demonstrated ability to train and build the capacity of others;
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships;
Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to execute projects on time and on budget;
Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
