Cooperation Field Officer

COOPERATION FIELD OFFICER FUNCTION DESCRIPTION The Cooperation Department is the ICRC's focal point for Movement issues and plays an active coordination role in building relationships between the ICRC and the Movement components in particular the National Society of the country concerned (ONS). The Department assumes responsibility for setting and implementing the delegation's cooperation objectives in line with ICRC's Movement policies and in consultation with the ONS and actively contributes to the development and implementation of Operational Partnerships with National Societies as part of the Delegation operational strategy.   Minimum required knowledge & experience: University degree in political, social or human sciences, or equivalent Minimum 5 years of work experience in a similar humanitarian field Fluent in written and spoken Arabic and English; French an asset Excellent verbal and written communication, as well as reporting and negotiation skills Experience in capacity building and project management is an asset. Solid understanding of the social, cultural and political environment in Lebanon Working experience with ICRC, International Federation or a National Society in the field of cooperation with the Red Cross Red Crescent movement is a significant asset   Standard function description: Develop and maintain relations with the ICRC’s primary interlocutors, the Lebanese Red Cross (LRC) and the Palestine Red Crescent (Lebanon) (PRCS/L). Contribute to the implementation and running of specific projects and programmes of the delegation, with a focus on coordination with partners and interlocutors. Support the delegation’s departments in their relations and coordination of activities with components of the Movement Conduct regular field visits to ICRC’s operational activities whenever LRC is the key operational partner. As part of the Cooperation Department, actively participate in all cooperation permanent and ad hoc tasks, including contributing to briefing notes, speaking points. Develop and maintain data and reports on LRC and other Movement partners for the Cooperation Department. Assist the hierarchy in running support or operational activities for specific and complex sectors. Represent ICRC and participate in various LRC/Movement activities and events, including during weekends.
