Background and Context: Welfare Association (Taawon) – Lebanon is an independent non-profit organization established in 1983 by a group of Palestinian business and intellectual figures to provide development and humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in the West Bank (including Jerusalem), the Gaza Strip, 1948 Areas, and the Palestinian communities in Lebanon. Welfare Association (Taawon) – Lebanon works in close collaboration with local partners’ active in the Palestinian communities on four sectors: Education, Community Development (including health, disability and micro loans), Culture and Relief and Emergency Assistance. Welfare Association (Taawon) – Lebanon has been implementing since 2005 a holistic and multidimensional early childhood education program (ECED) that seeks to enhance the quality of ECED in the Palestinian camps in Lebanon. It works by supporting local non- governmental organizations that provide early childhood education through training of their KG teachers, enhancement of physical structure of KGs, supply of educational resources and support in networking with parents. Funded by UNICEF, Welfare Association (Taawon) – Lebanon is implementing an “Early Childhood Education Project” (ECED) which involves a number of activities mentioned above. Those include, awareness raising sessions, psychosocial activities for kids, rehabilitation of KGs, training and coaching teachers, etc. all taking place in the different Palestinian camps all over Lebanon (North, South, Baalbeck, and Beirut).   Assignment objectives: Taawon- Lebanon seeks to document the work accomplished under its joint program with Unicef, “Support Early Childhood Education 2017”. In view of this, we would like to cooperate with a professional photographer who will work with Taawon, when required, to visit projects and provide professional photographic coverage in both digital and printed format. The objective is to capture and build a data base of high quality professional photos reflecting the different project components which carry genuine ideas that people interact and spontaneously identify with, photos that resonate in the mind and reflect the impact of ECED program on children’s lives, their parents and teachers. Scope of work: In coordination with the Communication Officer and Education Program Coordinator, the photographer is expected to perform the following tasks: • To provide digital color and black and white (as needed) photographic coverage for the different activities that run under ECED     program.• The photos should be of high quality and resolution so that they can be used for various purposes.• The photographer is expected to do 2 -3 field visits per month to different Palestinian camps in the north and the south of Lebanon where the activities are taking place. Areas to be considered: To achieve the objective of the assignment, the photographer will:• Successfully capture and emotionally express the core elements of the program. The core element s are:  - Children receiving quality education  - Children growing up happily  - Children with special needs integrated in the KGs  - Teachers building up their skills through training   - Families receiving guidance or attending awareness sessions   - KGs and playgrounds rehabilitated and equipped   - Documenting the stages of developing minimum standards for early childhood education  - Documenting ECED activities (trips, networking events …). • Make sure that pictures are technically good (properly exposed, processed and framed).• Provide different visual perspectives (close-up, medium range, long distance) in both horizontal and vertical formats.• Handing out the photos with complete caption information imbedded on the picture and in word document running caption list that references the file name of each image, with appropriate back ground information and the names of children, ages if a story is related to them. • Undertake field trips throughout the Palestinian camps in Lebanon.• Taawon (Welfare Association) retains full rights to all originals taken on this assignment. Support provided by Taawon: • Briefing and detailed explanation of the tasks and the photos needed.• Assistance in acquiring access to specific location (Camps, KGs …). Expected deliverables: The photographer will be expected to deliver any of the following as required at a specific period:• For every special event photographed throughout the year, on the same day, a minimum of 25 color and\or black and white images in high resolution shot as a raw file and the same selection in lower resolution will be delivered to Taawon office. • All digital photographs must contain complete caption information.• The sets of digital images will be delivered on CDs and\or DVDs together with caption information. Fee proposal:  The applicant is requested to provide a proposal or quotation of the fees\ costs of services along with a profile of the company and samples of his\ her work. All applicants must submit by March 17th, 2017.
