Adolescent Awareness Sessions-Marjaayoun

THE PURPOSE OF THE CONSULTANCY: World Vision Lebanon is looking for a short-term professional expert with a strong background and experience in delivering adolescent awareness sessions based on Life Skills topics. The consultant’s main role will be to plan and deliver sessions for school students between grades 7 and 12 to raise their awareness on the following topics: • Emotional management • Right Decision making • Self-confidence • Positive relationships PROJECT DISCRIPTION: The “Child Protection project” in Marjeyoun Area aims at protecting girls and boys aged from 6-18 from any kind of violence. World Vision is working on achieving the aims using different ways. One of which is raining awareness and developing skills of children through sessions. Each school session is 50 minutes/scholastic hours and interactive discussing emotional management, right decision making, self-confidence and positive relationships thus decrease the chances of violence practiced by children towards each other. Trainer will perform sessions in both private and/or public schools, with students of grades 7 through 12 as participants with a different range of ages 12 to 18 years old. The session should be 50 minutes in an interactive way. The training session will run from March to May 2017 depending on school availability with a range of 20-30 student in each sessions. A one-week preparation of materials should take place such as printing out, photocopy or other materials one-two weeks prior to sessions. REQUIRED TASKS: Consultant will: • Prepare two awareness sessions, one targeting students from 12 to 14 years old and the other from 15 to 18. Each session will cover the following topics: emotional management, right decision making, self-confidence and positive relationships (10min per topic) Prepare interactive material for the sessions (games, video, group work, …). • Share WV evaluation template (In Arabic) with students after the session to evaluate and get their feedback. • Lead the process of session delivery (40 sessions) (In Arabic) in Marjeyoun schools. • Submit one final report in English (template to be provided by WV) to including documenting the whole process of all steps (preparation, agenda, content of sessions, sessions delivery) Trainer should provide a plan/ schedule for delivering the topics after contacting the schools, including the preparation of the session in Arabic Language. CONSULTANT QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: The Consultant should have the following competencies and experiences: - Significant technical expertise in adolescence life skills - Advanced degree in relevant education field (e.g. Special Education, social work, Sociology, Psychology etc…) - Familiar with civil society and NGO engagement. - Good analytical, critical thinking and communication skills. - Good reporting skills. - Ability to travel to Marjeyoun Area upon schools availability during March, April and May 2017 DURATION OF THE CONSULTANCY: The consultant will provide services for WVL as needed during the period from week of March 2017 until mid-June 2017. Task Timeline Meeting with the consultant to start preparing the material (pre-post- questionnaires, 10 March 2017 Provide 40 interactive sessions for 10-12 school students of grades 7 through 12 in Marjeyoun Area. Tentative/ Flexible: Starting 13 March to 31 May, 2017 Submit one final report (in English) to WV including documenting the whole process of all steps (preparation, pre- post- questionnaires, sessions delivery) using a report format from WV 15 June, 2017 PAYMENT TERMS The full amount will be paid after completion of the services.
