Community Hygiene Promotion Coordinator

MISSION The Community Hygiene Promotion (CHP) Coordinator, as one of the technical advisors of the mission, contributes to the development of Solidarités International strategy by supporting identification of uncovered needs, proposing a sector-based strategy and overseeing the quality of the CHP programs implemented by the mission. He/she specifically guarantees the quality and suitability of proposed technical approaches and ensures the appropriateness of the Community Hygiene Promotion related activities and general SI objectives to the needs of the local populations. He/she coordinates the project cycle and more particularly the operational monitoring of Community Hygiene Promotion programs implemented in Lebanon. He/She ensures SI representation to the technical and sectorial working groups and reporting on SI interventions. He/She contributes to the process of capitalization and the improvement of Solidarités International methods and techniques in the field of Community Hygiene Promotion. He/She builds up the technical skills of the program team in the field of Community Hygiene Promotion.    JOB List of main tasks:   Strategic orientation • Propose and develop a sector-based strategy in accordance with SI’s policies and priorities for the intervention country. • Support diagnostic missions in his/her field of responsibilities. • Support the Country Director in the monitoring and analysis of donor’s strategies of Community Hygiene Promotion. • Be the driving force for putting new activities into place. • Be the driving force for the setup of an internal strategy for a sustainable merging of the Community mobilization and Hygiene Promotion departments using the best practices of each department and harmonizing really similar approaches. • Evaluate and define criterion to develop an internal exit strategy of WaSH activities • Participate actively in programming work. • Participate actively in the week for technical coordinators.   Relevance and quality of projects • Ensure the relevance of any assessment carried out. • Propose and organize evaluation missions. • Support the program managers in setting up a technical approach and assessing the financial, human, and logistical elements of the programs to be implemented. • Approve the technical approaches for Community Hygiene Promotion activities. • Ensure that all programs are implemented respecting Solidarités International annual operational strategy, technical requirements, norms and standards including Sphere and the criteria stipulated by financial backers. • Ensure the relevance and consistency of Community Hygiene Promotion programs vis-à-vis the needs of the local populations. • Ensure that the programs under his/her supervision achieve the required results. • Develop the program team capacities with techniques and new methodologies. • Implement technical trainings and lead workshops in line with operational needs and training requirements.   Coordination, technical support and operational monitoring • Ensure that resources from the Tool Box are used correctly in the management of the project cycle. • Ensure that the planning and monitoring timetable is consolidated / validated. • Approve the quality criteria and performance indicators of the activities proposed by the program managers ensuring their relevance, regular follow-up and analysis. • With the coordination team, take part in the monthly review of programs (budgetary, operational, logistical…). • Provide support and advice to the logistical service for the purchase of specific materials for Community Hygiene Promotion activities. • Provide technical and methodological support to program managers for the planning and implementation of activities. • Anticipate difficulties related to how activities are carried out and facilitate problem solving. • Propose the reorientation of activities according to the evolving context. • Contribute to SI contingency planning and liaison with other stakeholders for Community Hygiene Promotion assistance.   Capitalization • Ensure that Solidarités International’s capitalization tools are correctly used and disseminated throughout HQ (technical unit and desks) • Participate in the centralization and dissemination of procedures, guides and tools linked to Community Hygiene Promotion activities • Propose improvements to existing tools such as SASIL or APU. • Be a driven force for the inclusion and development of CHP strategies as part of an exit strategy of WaSH sector. • Form a network of Community-Hygiene Promotion experts, develop technical partnerships with others actors in these sectors of the intervention zone and regularly keep the program managers up to date • In coordination with the technical unit, capitalize on the intervention methods and techniques, and on the experiences acquired by Solidarités International and others actors in this activity field. • Ensure that handover reports are written by all program managers before the end of their contract and that these are sent to headquarters • Actively participate in the organization of regional technical weeks and compiling reports of these work sessions   Reporting / communication / representation • Support the Country Director with fundraising and the negotiation and examination of project proposals relating to his/her activities • Consolidate Community-Hygiene Promotion activity reports and supervise the preparation annexes linked to those  activities for donors’ reports and/or proposals • Ensure that all activity reports are delivered on time and in the correct format • Validate technical expertise reports • In conjunction with the Country Director, establish and maintain a communication network and good relations with local/government authorities, donors representatives, UN agencies and other international agencies • Ensure that SI is represented at all technical and sectorial meetings or working groups related to CSMC, ,WaSH/Community Hygiene Promotion interventions and provides timely and accurate information on SI intervention as requested by the sectors. • Represent the organization when asked and/or delegated to do so by the Country Director. • Reply to headquarter requests regarding specific needs.   ORG CHART POSITION (reporting and functional relationships) Line manager: Country Director
