Short-Film Making Coach-Shatila

Short-film making coach: This position would be a part of the KNH project, within a participation in a short film competition for 15 adolescents from Shatila camp (ages between 15_25), aiming at social development for children, adolescents and women from Shatila camp through the presenting of cultural and entertaining projects. Also, gaining new skills for the participants by providing a safe environment and new pathways to express them selves.   The coach’s duties and responsibilities: 1)- Laying a clear and detailed plan on the methodology and approach for the training on writing the short film’s scenario, direction and principles of montage. 2)- Setting standards for applicants and participating in the process of casting in collaboration with the arts and cultural center.  3)- Providing intense training for two weeks and committing to a weekly meeting with the participants, also keeping track of the participants development throughout the following 3 months till the announcement of the competition’s results. 4)- Participating in the judging process.    5)- The training sessions are divided into three phases:                 - First phase: training on script writing.                 - Second phase: training on photo shooting mechanism and direction.                 - Third phase: training on the principles of montage and the final editing process. 6)- Encouraging young talents that may progress throughout the training and that is by focusing on the points of strength that the participants possess and giving the right positive direction to those talents. 7)- Maintaining a tidy and clean training area, and making sure that it is convenient for the training. 8)- Laying an alternative plan in case if the response with original plan was not as hoped. 9)- Maintaining attendance sheets for the participants and presenting them with the monthly report. 10)- Presently monthly and weekly plans describing the response from the participants and how well they are accepting the followed plan of training. 11)- Following the organization’s policies and standards.   Requirements: -          Education degree: a degree in social or art studies or a similar degree. -          Experience: no less than two years in short film making. -          Languages: fluent Arabic and a command of the English language both writing and reading.
