The International Network for Aid, Relief and Assistance (INARA) is looking for a Translation and Media Intern to translate key social media posts and webpages into Arabic from English. This is so that we can reach new audiences with exciting content. Please note that this Internship is unpaid.
ABOUT INARA
INARA provides life-altering medical treatment for children from conflict areas who have catastrophic injury or illness and are unable to access treatment due to war.
We step in to fill the gaps in access to medical treatment when not provided by other institutions or non-profits, including financial assistance where needed. INARA does not compete with, but complements pre-existing medical facilities by building partnerships in order to secure reduced or pro bono care.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Helping to translate key Tweets and Facebook posts into Arabic to improve our reach
Monitoring response to these Arabic Facebook posts and Tweets and responding as and when appropriate
Working on translating webpages into Arabic
Translating video interviews and helping to develop accurate subtitles for video content
Researching key media contacts within Lebanon and outside of Lebanon to approach for media coverage
Writing pitches and story ideas to Arabic speaking media contacts in Lebanon and internationally
Working closely with the Communications Officer on other communications related activities
REQUIREMENTS
Fluent in Arabic
Very good level of written and spoken English
Experience working in translation
Good digital knowledge - especially when it comes to social media
Good attention to detail
Good independent research skills
Working to deadlines.
Please note that the internship is unpaid. The hours and length of the internship are 3 months, working two days a week.
