Registration Associate (Data Management) – G6 – Pn 10026592 - Beirut

The Registration Associate is part of the registration team in the Branch Office and is supervised by Assistant Registration Officer (NOA). The Registration Associate (Data Management) is responsible for supporting all activities related to registration and data management in the Branch Office and the field/sub-offices, and with ensuring that registration information of registered refugees is effectively used for the identification of specific protection needs, for the management of operations, and for the achievement of durable solutions. Accountability(key results that will be achieved) UNHCR's Registration Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are implemented in accordance with relevant UNHCR standards and policies. Preparation of qualitative and quantitative reports, including statistical reports based on the standard reporting formats and ad-hoc reports, charts and tables as required by the management is supported. Responsibility(process and functions undertaken to achieve results) Provide registration and data management support to the branch office and field/sub- offices. Assist in implementation of agreed registration strategies and systems for populations of concern to meet standards for registration. Support the field office team on management of registration and maintenance of population information. Support registration activities including ProGres technical support and on-site assistance at the branch office and in the field when needed. Manage the use, maintenance and technical support of databases used by Registration and Data Management in the operation, including planning and overseeing data collection, input and verification; production of standard and ad-hoc reports. Draft correspondence and reports relating to registration activities in the operation, when required. Collaborate with protection staff and/or partners in the delivery of assistance and programming. Provide training, as necessary, to UNHCR staff, as well as staff-members of implementing partners in relevant aspects of registration and data management. Archive and backup registration database systems; ensure security of the databases; perform database administrator functions. Provide statistics and draft reports related to registration data, as requested. Assist in data quality checks and data visualization. Assist in the use, maintenance and technical support of databases used in the operation, including planning and overseeing data collection, input and verifications. Perform other duties as required. Authority(decisions made in executing responsibilities and to achieve results) Update database for registration and provide statistics and data analysis as required. Facilitate and/or dispatch data collection in the local operation, including data collection methodology, data processing and data analysis. Assist Data Management unit with development of new applications/databases needed by the UNHCR Offices/Units in area of responsibilities in order to perform their tasks smoothly. Draft and submit reports and statistics related to registration.

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Define the educational background, the relevant job experience and the language(s) that are essential to perform the work of the position.
- Completion of secondary education with post-secondary training/certificate in Social Sciences, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Technology, or related fields.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant professional job experience.
- Excellent knowledge of computer software and database applications.
- Excellent knowledge of English and Arabic languages.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES. Describe any experience or knowledge that would be an asset, such as: UNHCR Learning Programmes, other training, additional languages, Field/HQs experience, etc.
- Previous experience in UN/UNHCR or related work experience with other NGOs/INGOs.
- Good knowledge of ProGres (HCR database for reintegration of refugees, returnees and displaced persons).
- Experience in managing programme related to standards and indicators.
- Training on data analysis with SPFF (statistic software).
- Completion of UNHCR learning programmes or specific training relevant to functions of the position.
- Knowledge of another relevant UN or local languages.
