Food Safety Expert

JOB SUMMARY A qualified food safety expert is required to offer consultancy as well as implementation of works and services covering food safety aspects related to agro-processing projects. He/She shall be providing technical assistance for the municipal projects under BALADI Program including technical location assessment, observations, technical recommendations for compliance with GMP / GHP and a floor layout including products and personnel flows. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES •Conduct field visits to assess compliance of the production site with hygienic standards (GMP/GHP) to identify suitable and customized recommendations for the location. •Elaborate and evaluate the assessment of the intended location through a technical report fulfilling the local and international Good Manufacturing / Hygenic Practices and USAID Regulations. •Establish a floor map taking into consideration all the recommendations. •Review with the intention to identify technical issues where possible improvements may be introduced to enhance the design efficiency that may in turn reflect on the construction, operation and maintenance of the project. •Set the technical mitigation measures that should be implemented once the equipment is identified. •Coordinate with Caritas-Baladi Architect of the project in order to finalize the design phase. •Analyze, identify and resolve all technical issues related to food safety and hygienic standards that may be faced in the projects in hand. •Coach and train the technical team that will be operating the agro-processing center on all related food safety and hygienic standards.
