DIGITAL OPPORTUNITY TRUST LEBANON- JOB DESCRIPTION AREA MANAGER BEIRUT AND MOUNT LEBANON   OFFICE: Home office based (min. 3 field visits per week) AREA: Beirut and Mount Lebanon REPORTS TO: Program Manager   Organization: Digital Opportunity Trust Lebanon (DOT www.lebanon.dotrust.org) is a Local NGO, member of the DOT networks in countries throughout Africa, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas.   DOT is an innovator in enabling people to access and apply information and communications technologies (ICT) to create education, economic and entrepreneurial opportunities. DOT’s signature entrepreneurship programs, ReachUp! and StartUp!, integrate ICT, life skills, and micro-enterprise development and are delivered in a cost-effective manner, using university graduates to train and build capacity of youth in their communities. DOT transforms and supports young women and men, as they become leaders of economic and education change in their societies.   Position Description: As an Area Manager, you will work to support the launch and sustainability of the DOT Digital Youth and ICT in Education program in Lebanon through coaching and regular communication with the DOT Coaches. You will work on the DOT Lebanon country team and take your direction from the Program Manager.   Your key responsibilities and accountabilities will include: Guide and support the DOT coaches Facilitators in assessing the community centers infrastructure, its ICT environment and personnel Training, managing and coaching the DOT digital coaches Mentor and coach the DOT Digital coaches to resolve issues and challenges as they arise during their assignments Ensure that the DOT Digital coaches are consistently fulfilling their roles, completing program delivery tasks and achieving milestones Ensure that the DOT Digital coaches develop and apply the skills they need to drive successful implementation of the DOT Digital Youth Training program in their communities. Work closely with the DOT community partners on outreach activities, promoting the program, facilitating the logistics component of the program implementation Submit needed (operational/financial) documentation/reports and/or information in regards to the implementation, reporting of the program Regular coordination with the Program Manager and Program Officer on weekly field visits, constraints, successes, recommendations, etc.. Demonstrates a complex awareness of a variety of technology and subject-specific tools and applications Regularly identifies technology tools to improve personal subject matter and pedagogical knowledge Effectively identifies, collects, and analyzes relevant data, lessons learned, observation to form conclusions by working closely with the DOT monitoring team Work closely with the Human Resources Team on the recruitment and orientation for new the DOT Digital coaches. Undertake other duties assigned by the Program Manager. Position Qualification & Skills Requirements: Minimum of master degree in the field of technology, social sciences, or development Must have at least 5 years’ experience in the education or development work Outstanding organizational and time-management skills. Excellent managerial, coaching and leadership skills. Good interpersonal and oral communication skills. Strong computer knowledge. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and efficient multi-tasker. This candidate can work independently in a fast-paced dynamic working environment. He/ She will have excellent writing skills, is creative and committed.   Compensation: DOT is a non-profit INGO that recognizes that change is driven by involving the best people.
