WHO WE ARE
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is a private medical organization providing health care to populations in distress (e.g. victims of natural disasters, victims of conflict) without discrimination and with commitment to medical ethics, evidence-based medicine. MSF has a large scope of medical activities: from primary health care to tertiary care such as intensive care or reconstructive surgery.
In addition, MSF is involved in operational research; e.g. antibiotic stewardship, non-communicable diseases or Ebola vaccine.

WHERE WE WORK
Worldwide, MSF works in 70 countries from Cambodia to Mexico passing through Iran, Yemen, Egypt or Nigeria, Greece, France as examples. In Lebanon, in collaboration with the MoHP, MSF is on process to open a pediatric unit (10 PICU beds & 20 step-down beds) at President Elias HARAOUI hospital in Zahle. The objective of this project is to reinforce access to emergencies care for the underserved communities.
WHAT WILL I DO?
→ Apply my medical knowledge and skills to diagnose and ensure comprehensive care to children
→ Provide appropriate explanations about the illness and its treatment to children and their parents
→ Follow up the evolution of the hospitalized children through daily consultations
→ As an expert in pediatric, propose innovative strategy (modification on pediatric care management) and ensure ongoing pediatric training (formal and bedside) of the nurses in order to optimize the pediatric quality of care
→ Review, discuss selected complicated cases or mistakes and give technical input
→ Collect clinical cases for further trainings and list a series of comments to improve the current MSF protocols (critical thinking)

WHAT DO I NEED IN ORDER TO APPLY?
Completed residency in pediatrics and/or specialized in internsive care/reanimation
Work experience in a Pediatric ICU is compulsory
Qualification or any certified training in Pediatric Intensive Care would be a major asset
Legal right to practice medicine in Lebanon
Fluent in Arabic and in English
