Logistics/admin Assistant

Intro: Terre des Hommes Italy (TDH IT) is recruiting a Logistics/Admin Assistant to support the implementation of an Education project for Syrian Refugees and affected host populations in Lebanon and Jordan, funded by the European Union (the ‘Madad Project’). TDH IT is implementing the Madad project in consortium with AVSI (lead agency) and War Child Holland. Together, the consortium will support formal and non-formal activities for preschool and school aged boys and girls (over 3 years old) in Lebanon and Jordan. Activities include; school rehabilitation, remedial classes, foreign language classes, homework support and PSS activities.   Job Purpose: With an anticipated start date of Mid-February 2017, TDH IT is seeking an experienced candidate to support the Program Manager and Program Coordinator in implementing and supervising the project’s logistics and procurement activities in Lebanon. Key Responsibilities: Main areas of responsibility (in coordination with TDH IT Project Manager/Coordinator): Logistic support related to field and office needs (e.g. goods purchasing, utility payments, cars and office maintenance, etc…). Focal contact for relevant suppliers, contractors and local authorities, as required.   Specific duties: Assist TDH IT in the implementation, management and co-ordination of the project in terms of:  Procurement activities (supply and work contracts). Identification of potential suppliers and/or contractors. Cars maintenance and car log-book. Completing purchases, filing documentation relating to purchases. Keeping stocks/asset record in accordance with donor policies.       2. Prepare and submit weekly progress reports to the Project Coordinator, or when requested.       3. Other duties as may be assigned by the Project Manager.  Experience required: High school diploma (technical specialization) or other diploma supported by specific work experience in building sites. Works sites experience. Good computer skills. Excellent knowledge of English and Arabic languages, both oral and written. Valid Driving License and ability to drive both automatic/manual cars. Previous experience in working with national/international NGO.   Personal qualities: Ability to work both independently and as a team member. Excellent communications skills. Ability to work in different cultural environments.
