Wash Specialist

URPOSE OF POSITION: To provide guidance and overall technical support in enhancing World Vision Lebanon’s capacity in WASH programming. To coordinate, manage resources and support the implementation of WASH activities to Syrian Refugees and host communities within Lebanon. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Program Development Leadership WASH Strategy developed. Input provided for all new designs. People Management and Compliance leadership WASH unit members coached and mentored. Grants aligned with Donors requirements. Capacity Building WASH staff are assisted and their capacities enhanced in WASH programming. A successor is ensured and in place. Leadership in the area of Relationship building and Networking Network developed with major actors in WASH in Lebanon. Active member and leader in coalitions and Syrian Response working groups. Learning and Research Lessons learned and major trends are documented. Research conducted on main WASH issues. Support Implementation, monitoring and reporting Quality of projects is well monitored. Advice is provided to all staff working in WASH projects. Reports and quality evaluation of projects and staff are ensured. Transition and sustainability Sustainability of projects and networks is ensured with the successor. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Master Degree in a social science, Public Health or Water Management. Excellent knowledge of English. Arabic knowledge would be an added value. Excellent networker. Ability to work in, and contribute to, a collaborative team-building environment. Willingness and ability to travel to project areas frequently. Excellent analytical/ problem solving skill and detail orientation Clear understanding of the workings of major donors Strong communication skills both oral and written. Strong understanding of WASH processes and models. Minimum of 5 years of experience in emergency and WASH Has experience in working with UNHCR and other partners in the WASH sector.
