Facilitator-Paving The Way: Promoting Women’S Inclusion In Syria

Organization Overview Search for Common Ground (SFCG) is a non-governmental organization working to transform the way societies deal with conflicts. We have acquired over 30 years of experience in peacebuilding and are based in 53 local offices worldwide. SFCG first worked in Lebanon in 1996, and we opened up our office here in 2008. The issues we address are multiple, such as conflicts arising within Lebanon's diverse society, tensions resulting from the increasing influx of Syrian refugees, security sector reform, as well as women’s socio-economic empowerment. In each project we seek to engage all stakeholders and strengthen local capacities in order to create sustainable change and increase social cohesion. Scope of Work SFCG is looking for an external consultant to facilitate between two and three workshops in Lebanon, Turkey and online with Syrian CSOs working with women. The Consultant is expected to: In consultation with SFCG and its partner, draft the Agenda for the workshop framed as a dialogue process which includes the clear objectives and expectations of each session; Facilitate 5 days’ workshop among participating CSO representatives, ensuring that the workshop is progressing as planned and effectively managing group dynamics in a way that evokes creativity and participation; Prepare evaluation forms in liaison with SFCG DME department; Write a final report about the workshop in a way that accurately captures the workshop findings and the recommendations of the participants as well as the changes in participants attitudes toward each other and the project according to the workshop’s objectives.  Qualification and Competencies Excellent facilitation skills Proven track record of facilitating dialogue processes Previous experience in working with Syrian civil society Experience in conducting online facilitation and/or training Applicants must be confident, persuasive, and able to communicate very well in Arabic Good English language skills Excellent time management skills Highly motivated with a background in Women’s rights, inclusion, and conducting dialogues.
