1. Role and responsibilities
The SFO is responsible for implementing Shelter project activities within the North area.
General Responsibilities
Coordinate the Social activities according to strategy, proposals, budgets and plans
Ensure adherence to NRC policies and donor requirements
Involve and inform communities and community leaders about the activities
Break down the annual operational plans into weekly, monthly and quarterly implementation plans
Coordinate with relevant partners
Ensure that procurement, development and distribution of materials and equipment are timely and according to procedures
Supervise, train and develop the team both on team and individual level
Prepare periodic progress reports and other documents as required
Investigate and facilitate introduction of new technology, methods and approaches in order to improve the quality of the activities
Plan the distribution of NFIs in coordination with the PC and logistics staff; as needed
Specific responsibilities
Hands-on capacity building of Social Field assistants
Continuous focus on improving the quality of the team
Focus on high quality outputs, and evidence-based project management
To guarantee that all beneficiaries sign all the appropriate documentation for their contracts and subsequent payments and ensure that they have not been registered by any other shelter partner for the same benefits.
To organize and lead, document and track conducting of surveys, questionnaires or assessments as required.
Organize social assessments of families, in coordination with the Shelter WASH Social Coordinator
Organize feedback to assessed cases particularly explaining to families that are not selected the reasons why and possible alternatives.
Systematically communicating with ICLA SSU team on move-ins and move outs and preparation of Occupancy Free of Charge agreements to be signed by landlords and hosted refugee families.
To check the beneficiaries’ records ensuring that there is no duplication and that the beneficiaries meet social beneficiary selection criteria.
To act respectfully and guide the house owners to give a clear and true picture of the household’s current and past situation.
Participate in the design of social tools
Systematically follow up on internal referrals and troublesome cases
Identify cases in need of internal and external referrals
Supervise the preparation of beneficiary contracts
Critical interfaces
Shelter: coordinate in close collaboration with Shelter technical and WASH teams in relation to shelter activities in Small Shelter Units.
ICLA: ensuring the team is ready to deal with referral cases and follow up communication
Coordinate with Local Authorizes
Coordinate with Shelter Partners in the area

Academic Qualifications:
Bachelor degree relevant to field of work
Generic professional competencies for this position:
1-2 years of Experience from working within Projects in a humanitarian/recovery context
Ability to see project in the bigger holistic approach of NRC
Knowledge of MS Office (word and excel)
Proficient in English, both written and verbal
Context related skills, knowledge and experience (shall be adapted to the specific position):
Knowledge of the context of Refugees in both urban settlements and informal settlements
Strong capacity building knowledge
