rogram Development:
Responsible for continuously conducting thorough research and tracking donors’ activities per sector in order to identify potential opportunities for Lebanon country program. The job holder should provide updates and status reports to the CD regarding the progress of the above in order to ensure that opportunities are well identified and prepared for. Practical steps and activities which are required to ensure the completion of the above task should be identified, documented and shared with the CD on a monthly basis;
Attend specific events and meetings to increase the knowledge base and information regarding programs which are being implemented in Lebanon and share information concerning RI accordingly. These meetings include but are not limited to: donor meetings with Country Director and sector coordination meetings in Lebanon (Health, WASH, Livelihoods, Interagency, and other upon request)…etc. Monthly meeting agenda should be shared with CD regarding this task, and should be updated as needed.
Play a proactive role and fully coordinate with program leads in order to assist them in writing, editing and proof reading new project proposals within their field in addition to proposals which extend the existing programs. The job holder should organize monthly meetings with project leads for a proactive planning;
Lead drafting and subsequent revisions of new project concept notes and proposals that do not fall within the purvue of existing program teams. The job holder should organize monthly meetings with CD for a proactive planning on expected opportunities; and meet regularly for ongoing opportunities already identified.
Increase the visibility of RI through developing partnerships with local NGOs in order to identify proposal opportunities in addition to drafting Teaming Agreements and sub grantee MOUs and budgets.
Set needed plans and lead assessments for proposal development opportunities as necessary at the field level; plans will be coordinated with Country Director but the implementation should require leadership from RCC with minimal interference at the field level from the Country Director.
Identify a well-structured work plan, in coordination with the Country Director, in order to ensure an effective and efficient contribution to the strategic planning for new opportunities.
Work closely with Country Director and Finance Team to draft budgets for proposals, ensuring that the programmatic activities within the proposal budget are accounted for;
Write and edit proposal annexes including but not limited to budget narratives, assessment documentation, work plans, letters of support, etc.
Develop a competitive landscape matrix to be updated on a monthly basis and shared with the Country Director at the end of each month, covering the sectors and locations relevant to RI.
Update Lebanon program development tracker on a weekly basis and share with the Country Director.
Participate in regional and global Skype meetings as required.
Communications:
Serve as the Communication Focal Point for RI-Lebanon; ensure that the communication strategy is properly implemented and in alignment with the general guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);
Liaise, as necessary, with the Global Communications Officer, including participation in monthly skype calls;
Manage the communications on RI-Lebanon's Facebook page while ensuring that the content and layout presents RI in the most professional and objective manner;
Writing capability statements and project summaries;
Writing monthly success stories to be posted on RI website and/or shared with the donors upon request;
Assist in creating other program communication materials as requested
Reporting:
Assist program teams with drafting and editing reports, including monthly and quarterly as requested.
Assist in administrative duties related to reporting as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
This position demands an individual with demonstrated initiative to achieve results and contribute to a small but dynamic team
Experience working for or with NGOs, international development and foreign assistance with a thorough knowledge regarding the internal Lebanese affairs and the key players of the international/intergovernmental institutions in Lebanon
Previous experience writing proposals for various donors
Experience in leading and conducting comprehensive researches in order to identify needed opportunities
Strong English language skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Representational skills which will be thoroughly utilized for effective and efficient public relations
Professional demeanor and ability to communicate with colleagues at varying levels of superiority, including the country, regional and global levels
Ability to work under pressure and in alignment with tight deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
