Job Purpose:
The finance manager contributes to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing its all financial tasks, works closely with the board treasurer to ensure smooth operation of all finance matters.
S / he will be responsible to make sure that finances officers are applying all financial procedures in an efficient manner.
Main responsibilities:
Implements day-to-day financial policies and budgetary policies as defined by the Board.
Issues receipts for income received.
Authorizes daily payment requests or recommends significant payment requests to the relevant authority.
Communicates all banking needs to the Treasurer.
Processes authorized payments via cash, cheque or bank order.
Controls cash accounts.
Maintains budgetary tracking of all projects.
Prepares monthly reconciliation and project financial reports as requested.
Ensures the AMURT procurement policy is followed and adequate documentation for all transactions is obtained and filed.
Meticulously Maintains separate financial records for each project.
Report to treasurer on variances from the established budget, and the reasons for those variances
Create additional analyses and reports as necessary
Assist the board treasurer in implementing the financial procedures and making sure that they are properly applied by the staff
Collaboratively leads and supervises finance officers to complete the above-mentioned tasks, having overall responsibility for their execution and quality.
Ensures the NGO remains audit-ready at all times, in collaboration with Board, supervised staff and external accountant.
Others, as assigned by the treasurer.
Skills and abilities:
Oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic languages
Excellent accounting software and MS Excel skills
Prior experience in Lebanese regulations governing NGOs.
Demonstrated capacity to innovate and think creatively
Excellent organizational and interpersonal capabilities
Ability to work under pressure & meet deadlines.
Ability to motivate others.
Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivated for extended periods.
Respects confidentiality
Note: living in Chouf is a plus.
