Protection Field Officer (Lebanese Nationals Only)

Background ACTED is an International Non-Governmental Organization registered in France with global operations in Central and South Asia, Europe, Middle-East and Africa. ACTED has been active in Lebanon since 2006 operating mainly in the North and Beirut and Mount Lebanon governorates of Lebanon. ACTED livelihoods and Protection program in Jbeil and Msaitbeh areas of BML.  **Please note: This is a local position. Only Lebanese citizens are eligible to apply.** Assignment Under the supervision of the Protection Sector Coordinator, the Protection Field Officer is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the project, including supervision of data collection, meetings with project stakeholders, develop curriculums in collaboration with trainers, delivering of trainings and identification and reporting any blocking points. Functions v   Assessment and selection of project beneficiaries Informing local stakeholders (authorities, community representatives) of the project and criteria to participate; Outreaching vulnerable women and conducting WE targeting interviews Ensuring assessment data is compiled and cleaned; Informing included women of acceptance and following up on attending classes.   v  Implementation of life skills training activities Collaborate with SDC trainer to develop the training program, to be validated by SDC director and PSC. Organize vocational training courses and supervise their implementation, ensuring that all logistical arrangements are taken and that beneficiaries attend regularly Collect all information sheets (beneficiary lists, registration forms, distribution lists, and others) at the training venue and insure proper documentation on a timely basis, in order to ensure prompt data entry when necessary. Follow work plan and overseeing the implementation of life skills training activities, providing inputs on work plan accordingly on a weekly basis; Provide Child protection and class management trainings to women. Follow up in collaboration with field officer on running the child protection unit at SDC. Organize and attend payment of training attendee incentives on a weekly basis; Preparation of graduation ceremonies; Collaborate with SDC to document lessons learned and develop sustainability plan; Providing daily and weekly progress reports and a bi-weekly update of the project management framework; Coordinate and support on partners activities when necessary.     v  Implementation of protection outreach campaigns and trainings Organize protection awareness raising campaigns in collaboration with SDC and women, building on SDC’s ongoing activities Provide women with ToT trainings for protection campaigns Assist in Developing and formalizing protection information networks and referral mechanisms for GBV cases in collaboration with MoSA’s service providers, SDC sub-branches and relevant NGOs. Encourage women to work in a positive friendly environment Be patient and positive and provide explanation when necessary         v  Reporting and documentation   Ensure proper filing of attendance sheets and project documents. Follow up on all paper work and reporting needed from the field Conduct phone calls and follow up with women on different matters.    Coordinate with SDC Director and Sector Coordinator with all updates related to the implementation process. Collect case studies and success stories according to ACTED guidelines       v  Accountability to Communities and Beneficiaries The Protection Field Officer is responsible for ensuring that all relations with the communities we work are conducted in a respectful and consultative manner.  Due attention must be paid to ensuring that communities are adequately consulted and informed about ACTED programme objectives, activities, beneficiary selection criteria, and methodologies.  This is the responsibility of every ACTED staff member.   Requirements  Strong ability to work independently, organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility INGO experience preferred Personal qualities: Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well. Experience in working in the protection sector Experience in similar positions Experience delivering trainings and curriculumns Experience working with implementing partners
