Educator

We are seeking a Lebanese Educator for the Khenshara Center for our project dedicated to Syrian refugee children at risk in Lebanon.  This post is based at the interim care center of Khenshara, in the Metn region in Mount Lebanon (30 km north east of Beirut). The shelter, that hosts around 30 Syrian refugee children, runs a day program from Monday to Friday. The day program consist of informal education, awareness session, psychosocial, life skills, cooking classes, and recreational, indoor and outdoor activities. The children are divided into 3 classes based on their age category.  This post will appeal to those with a passion for helping children. You will bring experience of psycho-social and educational services in Lebanon or Syria. Preferably, you have experience working with children and the Syrian community. You will work in close cooperation with the educator supervisor, the centre director and other experts.    Responsibilities: Organises educational, psycho-social and recreational activities which the children will find interesting and enjoyable. Prepares, plans and implements individualized informal educational plans Develops a clear understanding of each child’s skills, abilities, potential, future prospects, and aspirations Assesses new children and their level in order to create an individualized lesson plan. Assists with center programmes and activities, providing input to possible activities. Carries out all duties in an exemplary manner and provides a good role model for the children Protects the children in our care from all forms of physical or mental violence, injury or abuse, neglect or negligent treatment, maltreatment or exploitation, including sexual abuse Performs any other reasonable duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor
