Research Assistant Intern

Background: Min ila is a civil, independent and non-governmental organization founded in Lebanon on September 2013. Min ila envisions a society with active, empowered and alerted citizens capable of creating a social change. Its mission is to empower citizens – especially the youth and the marginalized – through fostering civic education, promoting a culture of social responsibility and nurturing an engagement to the nation. Physical Requirements/Working Environment: This position requires working with team members in a regular office environment (Jnah, Beirut) with occasional field visits to conduct interviews. Job Summary:  Min ila seeks a dynamic, motivated and committed person looking for an internship opportunity in the field of qualitative and quantitative research on civic education and citizenship topics with a newly established local NGO. This internship is an excellent opportunity to provide on hand experience and knowledge in various aspects of work related to the fields listed above. Job Responsibility:  Assist in setting meetings with resource persons, partners and government authorities such as ministries, municipalities and police officials among others. Assist in drafting timely reports on meeting outcomes, project implementation status and impact evaluation. Conduct research on specific topics to gather evidence based information; best practices, innovative approaches and lessons learned both at the local and international levels.  Conduct situation analysis on specific topics related to the ongoing projects implemented by Min ila. Academic and Technical Competencies: Experience: Not required but it is a plus. Completed a bachelor’s degree in education, social studies, human rights, political science or related subject. Excellent analytical, research and writing skills. Good knowledge of languages (Arabic, English and French is a plus). Personal Competencies: Interest and knowledge in the development field. Creative and innovative mindset. Able to prioritize work, multi-task, and meet deadlines. Duration of position: Effective date: Immediately Duration: 3 to 6 months renewable (Full time). Remuneration: Salary: This is an unpaid internship. However, non-financial incentives will be provided based on availability such as trainings and networking with other organizations.
