Sr. Child Rights Adviser - Nabatiye

btiJob Responsibilities: • Keeping the Governor updated/informed on key issues regarding children (Lebanese, Syrian, Palestinian) living or arriving in the Governorate, by reading reports, providing summaries and briefs to the governor, and analysing and interpreting the data, and advising the Governor on issues relating to Children and Youth in Education, Child Protection, Health and Nutrition, WASH, and Participation (Inclusiveness); • Assisting in collecting, gathering, analysing the data on the situation of children (social, political and economic) in the respective governorates; • Engaging and liaising with local authorities: Unions of municipalities, municipalities, mokhtars, line ministries, religious leaders, politicians and communities to promote and advocate the rights of children and facilitate their protection and enhance their participation in activities; • Identifying localities where there is a possibility and an added value to implement a project, and advising the field offices on these locations for further discussions ; • Sharing the updated situation of children in the respective governorates and promoting child friendly/centered interventions. • Observing the practices applied for children in the area and document the trends, lessons learned and best practices for advocacy purposes. • Attending meetings with the governor, key stakeholders and local entities (municipalities, Unions …etc) to promote the rights of children and assisting the Governor in convening meetings, workshops and conferences that discuss the situation of children. • Creating and maintaining an adequate information management system that contains evidence based lessons learned and best practices from the field; • Assisting the Governor in meetings and events related to Children and Youth as needed. At least 3 years’ experience Fluency in English and Arabic required. N.B: Project duration: 11 Months. Salary (range): $ 2000-2500 (11 months).
