Codi is a training centre to foster digital and technical skills for underprivileged and marginalised youth in Lebanon. Our mission is to use coding and digital skills as a leverage for not only inclusion and employment, but also as a catalyst for social innovation and diversity. The success of the model has been proven by the track record of Simplon who is the education partner for Codi and we will be leveraging their curriculum, methodology and best practices. Codi operates an intensive 6-months programme, free for students. Most of the curriculum focuses on technical skills (e.g. coding, web development, data, cyber security, etc.) but also includes English courses along with life skills training (e.g. communication and interpersonal skills, CV writing, interview coaching, entrepreneurship skills, industry discovery workshops, inspirational and motivational talks, networking events, etc.). In this context, Codi is looking for trainers to lead the student cohorts in Beirut. Missions: Your role will be to train future web developers and digital project managers (two Simplon tracks). Your main mission will be to ensure the 6-months intensive / full-time programme for web developers and digital project managers while accompanying our students throughout their daily activities. Responsibilities: Participate in the recruitment of the student cohort Define the contents of the curriculum (leveraging Simplon’s existing curriculum) and training objectives Ensure the training of the Codi cohort Supervise the team of additional trainers and the overall learning track of the cohort Stimulate meet-ups between students and the ecosystem of developers in Beirut (e.g. meet-ups, involvement in local events, …) Guide the cohort in its daily activities Report to Simplon (France) the performance and other KPIs of the cohort on a regular basis Provide advice and assistance within the development of short term / evening trainings; and other workshops during the programme Develop a final assessment of the cohort and the training programme Job Requirements: Passionate about software programming, successful candidates would have previous experience working in various contexts as a developer (e.g. Web Agency, SMEs, etc.) and in the programming languages selected for the curriculum Fluency in at least two programming languages (Php / Symfony, JavaScript, HTML / CSS) and ideally agile methodologies (Scrum, eXtreme programming) Comfortable with system administration and other related matters (management tools, community management, SEO, etc.) Strong interpersonal and communication skills (especially when teaching) Available to assist in all aspects of Codi Good understanding of and passion for Simplon’s content and methodology Job Requirements: Employment Type: 12 months’ contract (renewable) – Full time Experience: 3-5 years (teaching experience is an advantage) Monthly Salary: TBC Start Date: 2nd January 2017
