PURPOSE OF POSITION: To research and produce communications materials about World Vision Lebanon programmes mainly the WV response to the Syrian refugees & others WV related development programmes and provide these to the Communications Manager, the Syria Crisis Regional Communications Team and the World Vision partnership. Assist in implementing World Vision Lebanon’s visibility, branding, child protection and communications policies. Major Responsibilities: In response to local, regional, support office and/or global centre requests, research, film (rushes and editing) and, as appropriate, publish, video/stories about successes and needs in World Vision projects and overall situation; In response to local, regional, support office or global centre requests, take, caption, upload and, as appropriate, publish, photos about successes and needs in World Vision projects and overall situation; In response to local, regional, support office and/or global centre requests, research, write and, as appropriate, publish, written stories about successes and needs in World Vision projects and overall situation; Ensure these materials are published to the World Vision online platforms as appropriate and other WV and non-WV portals. Review local and regional online platforms site to ensure information such as captions, resources and other items are accurate and up-to-date. Remove outdated items and post new items. Support production of annual review and other key World Vision documents. Ensure all written, photographic, video, web and other resources produced are done so in alignment with World Vision child protection standards. Support in WV’s compliance with global branding and corporate identity. Contribute to media outreach plan results in increased positive coverage of WV’s work in local and national media outlets; b. Ensure WV staff is oriented on media relations policy and protocol; c. Local and national campaigns are supported through positive press coverage and relevant resources; d Ensure relevant content is developed for social media; e. Developed and maintained professional contacts and relationships with key print, radio and TV media, and liaise upon necessity; f. Ensure the external communication resources use correct WV identity. g. Provide communications support reflected in applicable regional and global advocacy Syria crisis campaigns. h. Host international and local media and press outlets representatives as per WVL comms protocol Ensure increase in access and readership of internal communications channels. b. Represent WVL in regional calls /webex. c. Feature national programming initiatives in regional and global communication platforms. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Bachelor's degree in Audiovisual, journalism, communications, graphics Videography and Photography skills Very strong ability to write, edit, and speak English (Previous experience writing, editing and/or publishing articles and taking photos) Strong computer literacy, including ability to work with Microsoft Office and web-based software Cross-cultural sensitivity and understanding of social and political environment. Full adherence to World Vision Lebanon Child Protection, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies. Full adherence to security protocols Three years experience working in communications or journalism or a related field. Ability to work with minimal direction, with team members as well as alone. Experience of coordinating work between different stakeholders Ability to cope with working in a dynamic and changing environment. Ability to exhibit exemplary lifestyle as interpreted in specific local cultural context A full commitment to World Vision’s core values and mission statement. Experience in coordinating project with other local NGOs is preferred. Familiarity with web-based portals and content-management systems Position requires in-country travel for up to 50 per cent of working hours. Position requires availability and willingness to work outside regular office hours occasionally. Position requires willingness and ability to continue to function during a crisis situation, including during a World Vision response to a manmade or natural disaster. Also requires willingness to undergo World Vision and external training on how to respond to such emergencies, including first aid training. Willingness to develop survival and security skills for various risks and challenges encountered in emergency situations. Willingness to undergo first aid and security training.
