All interested applicants should visit the below link & apply accordingly: https://careers.wvi.org/jobs/lebanon/finance/finance-officer/6097 PURPOSE OF POSITION: To contribute to WVL Finance Department with implementation of all appropriate processes to ensure continued effective operation of the accounting functions, good stewardship, transparency and accountability MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Run external and internal financial reports for all projects including grants. Implement grant tracking/ monitoring system for grant, ensuring all relevant grant information is accessible on a timely basis and properly summarized for rapid managerial decision-making. Develop projects budgets, including grants. Monitor the impact of operation plans upon existing grants, analyse and advise projects management on appropriate actions to be taken In collaboration with Finance Manager ensure accurate and timely producing and analyzing of financial statements, reviewing for completeness and correctness, making the appropriate adjustments as necessary. Review the source documents/ payment package before processing the payment to ensure alignment with local legislation and WV policies and procedures Coordinate performance of site project financial checks. Propose action to address audit findings and recommendations. Implement grant tracking/ monitoring system for grant, ensuring all relevant grant information is accessible on a timely basis and properly summarized for rapid managerial decision-making. Develop projects budgets, including grants. Monitor the impact of operation plans upon existing grants, analyse and advise projects management on appropriate actions to be taken In collaboration with Finance Manager ensure accurate and timely producing and analysing of financial statements, reviewing for completeness and correctness, making the appropriate adjustments as necessary Review and reconcile LDR’s on a regular basis Prepare financial vouchers for projects budget entries (budget C /B) and review them for valid account/cost center and donor combinations, and review respective financial data entered into SunSytems as required Assist the Finance Manager with monthly reconciliations as required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Degree in Finance or Accounting Computer literacy and working knowledge of spreadsheet applications Must have good oral and written communication skills, team building skills, and ability to work in a cross-cultural environment with a multi-national staff. Analytical skills and good attention to details. Must be self-motivated, innovation, able to work under pressure At least 3 years’ experience in accounting. Fluency in English required. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and a practical knowledge of financial systems and internal controls. Requires proven experience in treasury activities, establishment and monitoring of budgets, and an understanding of data processing concepts and systems. Ability to travel across the country 10 % of time
