Project Coordinator
Duration: 6 months (Renewable)
JOB TITLE: Project Coordinator
DURATION: 6 months (renewable), initial probation of 3 months
LOCATION: Beirut
ABAAD PURPOSE:
ABAAD aims at achieving gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region. ABAAD has a proven record in working in addressing GBV in emergency settings.

The Project Coordinator position in ABAAD is responsible to oversee the work of the project within the communities, providing technical support to various activities, coordinating with local stakeholders, and ensuring buy-in of the local population and oversee establishment and operation of community-led initiatives as well as ensure monitoring the delivery of quality case management service. The project coordinator is also responsible to supervise all programs’ components related to awareness-raising on protection, prevention, response and self-protection for boys/girls and adolescents and ensure representation at various local coordination groups.
The project coordinator will work 50% of the time in office and 50% in the field .
JOB PURPOSE:
The Project Coordinator is responsible for working within the community and supervises the admin/financial work of the case worker & the technical/admin/financial work of the team.
REPORTING LINES: Post holder reports directly to: Project Manager
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organize regular technical meetings with the team
- Organize weekly technical capacity meetings with team for transfer of knowledge and skills
- Support development, review, and approve the weekly and monthly work plans
- Support the conceptualizing and rolling out of work plan as needed
- Attend on weekly basis the mobile psychosocial support activities and information
- Assess and evaluate the quality of implemented work on regular basis & submit reports
- Collect, compile and analyze monthly reports from the team and submit to central level
- Work closely with the PM on all issues related to programs and activities
- Draft monthly reports pertaining to the activities
- Ensure the provision of quality management and the services offered are in compliance with standards and tools
- Provide on the job coaching to employees in the field and identify training needs and ensuring organizing/nominating team members to regular capacity development training opportunities as needed
- Work with team members on setting up performance objectives and conduct regular performance appraisal on bi-annual basis
- Ensure revision and clearance of any external communications (thank you letters, request for collaboration, invitations…etc) including use of ABAAD logo with ABAAD management
- Send cash or payment request, settlement of previous advance, attaching official invoices.
- Handle the running cost of the center, including activities expenses, case management expenses, and operational cost and additional events.
- Maintain ABAAD assets and ensure its proper use by the team.
Other Activities:
- Collaborate closely with ABAAD TEAM at large.
- Participate in monthly staff meetings and any meeting called upon by ABAAD Managemnt.
- Submit weekly and monthly reports.
- Respect ABAAD Code of Conduct and its PSEA Policy.
- Other duties as assigned by the manager and ABAAD Director.
Skills and Competencies:
- MA in social work or BA with at least 5 years’ experience
- Knowledge of GBV prevention and response humanitarian programming
- Experience working directly with refugees and other groups
- Experience working directly with women and girls
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to human rights, gender equality, non-discrimination
- Flexible pro-active attitude
- Ability to work well as an individual and in a team
- Ability to manage an unpredictable workload in a challenging environment
- Ability to work across socio-cultural and religious contexts
- Belief in ABAAD’s mission and vision
- Languages: Fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English. French is a plus.
- Must be computer literate, including Microsoft word and excel.
