Animator For Caregivers In Aley

INTRO Terre des Hommes Italy, non-governmental international organization, is recruiting an Animator to be involved in the implementation of the project “Strengthening Protection for Syrian refugees and Lebanese vulnerable girls and boys and their caregivers through community based and Psycho-Social Support activities building up their resilience, and provision of Case Management services”.  JOB PURPOSE The Animator will closely work with the animator team leader. She/he will develop, deliver and monitor outdoor/indoor psycho-social support (PSS) activities in order to reach the goals of the project.    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  To implement parenting program with selected caregivers in the SDC and outdoor. To develop a detailed monthly activity plan, indicating specifically the aim and the objectives of the activities to closely monitor results achieved with the beneficiaries of the age group mention above. To carry out activities using specific methodologies to support the beneficiaries’ resilience and needs. To report daily to the Team leader the activities conducted. To keep the balance between social, mental and physical activities for children and adolescents. To plan the activity in order to ensure progressive steps from easier to more difficult activities. To ensure that the beneficiaries have the possibility to participate in designing the activity, to express themselves and to be heard. To identify and select new beneficiaries. To ensure that the beneficiaries are all involved in the activity and that there is possibility for boys and girls to work both together and in gender based groups. In dealing with difficult behaviours (conflict, aggressiveness, introversion), to understand the reason behind the behaviour and to try as much as possible to involve the others participants as a resource to solve the problem. To identify children/family in needs of specific services and to report to the TL and SW. To plan and request the material needed for the activities to the TL. To be responsible for the proper use and basic maintenance of the animation material and Mobile Unit facility. To participate in the trainings provided by TDH IT or other partner Organization. To participate in the weekly coordination meetings. To comply with the TDH IT Code of Conduct.  Experience and requirements  University degree in Education, Communication and/or related fields At least 6 months of experience with NGOs in community based work; Experience in psychosocial support activities/parenting program; Strong understanding of refugee issues in the current Lebanon context; Experience in community mobilization in deprived communities; Good knowledge of the area/region and its local customs; Excellent communications skills, with good understanding of relevant cross-cultural issues and ability to work with refugee and host community populations; Written and oral communication skills in English preferred; Positive, respectful attitude and collaborative approach to problem solving; Dynamic leader with creative problem solving skills, particularly in challenging situations; Demonstrated attention to detail; ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently as well as cooperatively with team members; Capacity to work in team and flexibility to take on new tasks; Significant knowledge and understanding of the current political, economic, cultural and historical context of Mount Lebanon preferred; Able to establish and maintain effective working relations with people of different cultural backgrounds; Cultural sensitivity and adaptability; Computer Literacy.
