It Technical Support Officer

The IT technical support officer is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the computer systems and networks of CARITAS. He may install and configure computer systems, diagnose hardware and software faults and solve technical and applications problems, either over the phone or in person in and off site. Duties Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks Provide support either face-to-face, phone call, site visits Troubleshoot system and network problems and diagnose and solve hardware or software faults Replace hardware parts as required Provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports Support the roll-out of new applications Respond within agreed time limits to call-outs Work continuously on a task until completion (or escalates it, if appropriate) Prioritize and manage many open cases at one time Conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment Troubleshoot LAN and Landlines Cabling issues  Business Skills Good Communication skills with all computer users to determine the nature of problems by providing support remotely or by phone or an on-site visit Excellent listening and questioning skills Ability to work under pressure Ready to respond to all breakdowns at all times Ready to work on/off site at all Caritas' centers Enthusiasm for continuous improvement and learning Ability to work well in a team Problem solving skills Ability to prioritize the tasks Attention to detail Computer Skills Perfect knowledge in Windows 7 Perfect Knowledge in input/output devices
