Education Expert Consultant

Terre des Hommes Italy (TdH It) is currently looking for a consultant expert in the field of education. The consultancy will be regulated by a consultant contract, with total duration of 2 months. The consultant will: Design and conduct an assessment of the educational capacities of the staff, in order to individuate and explore gaps and potentialities to be enhanced with specific programmes of trainings. This would entail exploring: teachers training needs, students’ participation, management of non-formal education activities in the centres, parents/community involvement in education, etc. Participate in the design of training programmes based on needs assessments, for a range of frontline implementers (educators / teachers / practitioners) with different capacities, in both English and Arabic. Particular focuses of the trainings will be Inclusive Education and Active Learning methodology. Conduct regular training sessions for frontline staff implementing TdH It educational programme. Undertake performance evaluation of staff members and work as part of a broader countrywide monitoring scheme. Ensure quality educational services are delivered to beneficiaries in accordance with project targets and activities. Participate in design of specific tools for monitoring and evaluation of the educational activities implemented. Participate in the setting of diagnostic tests to be conducted in the non-formal education centres managed by the organization and its partners, for both academically proficient children and those with learning difficulties. Assist in the selection and recruitment of education implementation team members. Report regularly to both programme managers and senior management staff on the progress of work and changing needs.   Desirable experience required:  3 to 5 years of work experience. Previous experience working as an education professional in the humanitarian field. Previous experience as an educational trainer. Previous experience on Active Learning methodology will be considered an asset. Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic.
