Targeting Field Worker

Première Urgence - Aide Médicale Internationale (PU-AMI) is a non-profit, non-political and non-religious humanitarian NGO. Its objective is to bring about a global response to the basic needs of populations suffering from acute humanitarian crisis and to allow them to recover their autonomy and dignity.   Today, PU-AMI is intervening in 18 countries in Africa, the Middle-East, Caucasus, Asia and the Caribbean to cover the needs of populations affected by conflict, natural disasters or economic crises.   PU-AMI in Lebanon has been implementing emergency and recovery projects in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, in Shelter Rehabilitation, Health and in Livelihood Recovery sectors.     OVERALL MISSION   General objective   The main objective of the targeting exercise is to survey the eligibility status of Syrian refugees in Lebanon to the WFP e-cards program. This survey will also provide a multi-sectorial overview of the vulnerability situation of Syrian refugees in Beirut and Mount Lebanon.   Under the supervision of the Targeting Team Leader, the Targeting Field Worker will implement activities on the field. The Targeting Field Worker spends most of his/her time in the field and is in regular and direct contact with beneficiaries.   The Targeting Field Worker will be paired up in teams of 2 people each which are expected to carry out between 6 and 8 interviews per day. Targeting Field Worker are responsible to schedule their visits with the selected families prior to their visit. The visit will be guided by a questionnaire which needs to be completed by the Field Worker, by filling out the questions section of the questionnaire based on the answers given by the beneficiaries.   The questionnaire will be made available in electronic format and tablets will be provided to this effect. Training will be provided to train Field Worker on how to fill out the questionnaire, clean and verify data. Assessor teams will be supported by Targeting Team Leaders who will plan daily movements, provide assistance as needed and monitor daily activities.     Responsibilities and tasks   -  Targeting exercise: He/She will implement targeting field-related activities. -  Safety and Security: He/She will follow safety and security rules on-base and will transmit all safety and security information to the Targeting Team Leader.   Specific objectives and linked activities            1. Conducting interviews -  Under the guidance of the Targeting Team Leader, ensuring quality and accuracy of data collected on the field and the serious follow up of available guidelines. -  Conducting any other assessment, survey or outreach activities, as required by the Manager. -  Refer refugee cases that need follow-up to designated internal focal points.    2. Communication & Follow up -  To participate in the field work and respond to beneficiaries’ queries with good knowledge of relevant information. -  To report on its daily activities to the Targeting team Leader.   The tasks and responsibilities defined in this job description are not exhaustive and can evolve depending on the project needs.     Mandatory requirements Knowledge & skills: Very Good Communication skills. Good analytical and writing skills / Very good team spirit/ Demonstrate willingness to improve own knowledge and skills by participating actively in any training sessions and capacity building activities Computer skills: Correct knowledge of the MS office software (including Word, Excel, Outlook) Driving License: Ideally, to be a driving license holder and willing to drive to remote areas on a daily basis.   Assets Interest: -       Strong motivation to help people in need; -       Understanding of the political situation in the area. -       Willing to travel across all districts in Mount Lebanon.   Transversal skills: -       Well organized and attention to details -       Conflict resolution and diplomacy experience -       Ability to analyse and suggest improvement -       Autonomy, neutrality, hard worker -       Able to manage stress and pressure -       Ability to work within a team.
