Missing Field Officer
The ICRC is undertaking a comprehensive project to collect data on persons missing as a consequence of the different armed conflicts in Lebanon since 1975 and provide support to their families.
The Missing field officers' tasks include:
· Collecting Ante-Disappearance Data on missing persons through interviews with their families all over Lebanon. Produces the accurate reporting of the interviews, ensures needed follow up, accurate recording and archiving of all files and contributes to the data analysis following the interviews.
· Collecting Biological Reference Samples (saliva samples) from selected relatives of missing persons all over Lebanon. Ensures accurate reporting and follow up needed following the collection.
· Participating to at least one additional activity related to the Missing; support to families of missing (accompaniment), collection of new names of missing persons, data entry and management etc.
· Contributing to the general knowledge of the Delegation about the Missing file and humanitarian consequences and needs of their families.
· Upon request, translating from Arabic into English and v.v., orally during meetings or in written.
Minimum required knowledge & experience:
· University degree
· 3 - 5 years work experience in a similar field
· Good knowledge of written and spoken English
· Good level of written Arabic
· Good computer skills
· Good knowledge of geographically assigned environment
· Good analytical skills and attention to details
Start of work: asap
Working base: Beirut, with field trips all over Lebanon.
