Main responsibilities
- Working under the supervision of registered nurses, the nurse assistant provides basic nursing care to patients on surgical ward
- Assists registered nurse perform patient care and monitoring activities as required including taking patients vital signs
- Prepares the patient for OT pre operatively and receives the patient with the registered nurse post operatively
- Transports patient to X-ray department, etc. …
- Reports any eventful physical and or psychological change in patients’ condition.
- Prepares patient’s bed and room and ensures a high standard of patient hygiene is maintained
-Assists with or undertakes personal cares for the patient when needed
- Receives clean linen, collects dirty linen and disposes as per the hospital’s policies
- Sterilizes and decontaminates equipment on the ward
- Orders patients diets / completes checklists
- Performs other duties as directed by the registered nurse

Skills and qualifications
- High school level
- 2 - 3 years work experience in similar function including experience in working in an acute orthopaedic and reconstruction service.
- Good knowledge of spoken English
