The protection of populations of concern is met through the application of International and National Law, relevant UN/UNHCR protection standards and IASC principles.
Protection activities are guided by the UNHCR country protection strategy.
The participation of persons of concern is facilitated through supporting participatory, rights and community based approaches.
Responsibility (process and functions undertaken to achieve results)
Assist in the development of awareness raising campaigns on a variety of protection issues, including rights and obligations of refugees in host countries.
Translate into Arabic/English relevant correspondence and protection material (SMS, leaflets, website, Q&A, reports, etc.)
Disseminate in close coordination with the Sub/Field offices mass communication focal points information material (brochures, leaflets, videos).
Liaise with Refugee Outreach Volunteers on information needs faced by refugees and suggest most suitable and effective information sharing methodologies to address the gaps.
Proactively gather, collate and summarize information about the mass communication activities in field locations.
Support refugees' involvement in the development of messages and information mechanism and help to test with refugees the material produced.
Maintain update information on available services and assistance as well as procedures through the existing refugee outreach mechanisms.
Assist the Mass Communication Officer and other members of the Protection Section with the delivery of training to Refugee Outreach Volunteers on communication techniques, including how to ensure the information is received and disseminated using methods which do not put refugees at risk.
Analyze data and trends gathered from the various components of the protection response framework and produce monthly countrywide analysis.
Compile relevant input and general information required for the production and editing of protection reports, notes and documents as needed.
Perform other duties as required.
