Regional Liaison Officer (Medical)

The Regional Liaison Officer acts as the central point of contact for the patients of the region, functioning as a liaison between the patient, medical liaison officers, the ICRC surgeons, hospital project managers, and other departments, i.e.: ICRC Welcome and Lebanese Red Cross taking into account the important aspect of diversity. Main responsibilities The Regional Medical Liaison Officer receives patients’ referrals from within Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, Syria and other countries like Libya, and closely coordinates with the Medical liaison officers of the region & the WTTC senior surgeon regarding those referrals – including patients within Lebanon if required. He/she provides support service to patients, hospital project managers in Tripoli and Beirut, Senior ICRC surgeon and Welcome department to facilitate the overall care to patients coming from the region. He/she ensures the proper transfer and transport of patients and respective caretakers between point of entry (airport, borders) and WTTC (Tripoli, Beirut). The Regional Liaison officer ensures that patients’ arrivals and admissions are coordinated in a timely and accurate manner as per the Standard Operating Procedure and according to Specialist surgeon’s availability Acts as a point of reference for the referral process in the absence of the Senior Surgeon. Within Lebanon s/he coordinates for country referral of patients – or with Sub-delegations in Lebanon if required. Keeps referring MLO updated on their referred patient Provides accurate and up to date information to parties involved in the referral process on regular basis and upon request Profile Medical background, preferably an BS in Nursing, or Medical Doctor with previous 3 to 5 years of experience with Patient care and NGOs. Excellent analytical skills: capacity to analyze, synthetize and summarize; ability to think out of the box (Multidimensional thinking). Proven communication skills. Good computer skills. Good negotiation and diplomatic skills Fluent in Arabic and English; French an asset Proficient reporting in English
